Marc Bartra

It's funny that everyone calls him shit after a pre-season game against the best team in the world that already played several matches in the last few weeks. There were moments this season where he played just as bad but against much worse opponents than Bayern.

If we have this little faith in players who don't immediately show their talent we're gonna end up selling everyone.

I like the combination of your comment with your profile pic of Laporta with a cigar!! :worthy:

Much better today than against Bayern, even if there wasn't any danger... Probably he was mentally blocked against Bayern, after what happened last season...

Fontas, Bartra, Muniesa, Sergi Gomez, .... it's funny they couldn't produce a single quality defender out of this generation of Masia after all.

To be fair Muniesa was the only one supposed to gr8 talent of all of them but he was always injured since he was 15 ,there was nothing they could do to develop him if he was rarely playing
Speaking of Bartra ,still convinced he should be loaned this year and see what he can really do with regular playing time
he hasn't shown we can count on him ,and at his age he needs playing time to develop ,he is 22 (complete 23 by mid season) so playing time is essential for his career ,he will gain nothing staying on the bench

Bartra is a poor defender.

Don't think we've seen him play alongside Puyol, have we? He's always played alongside Puyol or Mascherano, and yesterday Gomez.
I didn't watch him play so can anyone explain why he was so "bad" yesterday? I can only see that one of Gomez or Roberto didn't defend the attacker for the first goal, and I think he was playing on the left, so that rules out a possibility to help out properly on the second goal.

He made some rookie mistakes. One I remember is him trying to pass the ball back to Pinto, just to miss it entirely and give a corner to lechia. Also, he still uses his hands too much.
I think it'd be best for him to go on loan, to a team where he'd be a guaranteed starter. He needs a lot minutes, to see if he'll develop or not.

Yeah, he does need a lot of playing time, cause as a defender more than the rest: the more you play, the better you get. If Puyol becomes fit and a new CB is signed, it'd reduce his playing time significantly if he stays.

I thought the same would've happened with Fontas, going to Mallorca with a secured starting spot, but it turned out he's not even good enough to start for Mallorca. I hope it's not the case with Bartra. He's been below average in all 3 games so far.

That's why I'm surprised, because we can all see that he has too many flaws to even be a backup for us - why would Tata suddenly think he could count in him? Probably just BS until I see an official quote from Tata.

Bartra was alright, but it was a bit worrying to see him get pushed around by Victor Andrade. Seriously Andrade is 5' 7" and only 17, Bartra, a 6' tall 22 year old shouldn't let that happen to him. Bartra should seriously bulk up a bit.
