Reus could play in a 4-2-3-1 in one of his best positions. There's no spoiling the broth.

Yes in theory. Rooney could also play in such an formation. Would both be needed? Not at all.

We need a replacement for Alves, a young long-term central defender and a central midfielder.

If I could choose I would buy Danilo, Marquinhos and Pogba. The last thing I would worry about (as long as Pedro stays) would be the attacking positions.

Seriously can it get any better than Messi, Suárez and Neymar? I very much doubt this.

This team does not need another attacker in the starting 11. Reshuffling of the lineup and formation to add another attacker is just totally unnecessary. They already have the best attacking trio of any team out there. What they need is balance in the midfield and security in defense.

Reus right now would come to rotate the front three and he is simply to good a player for that role.

I'd take him though, specially for €25M

Of course he's not a key signing, but if he wants to come we should sign him in 2016.

What are the chances of him staying in Dortmund until January 2016 given his buyout clause this summer? Let's presume that the club will buy him this summer. Where is he going to spend his time until January 2016? Is he going to accept the fact that he is not going to play for his new club until January 2016? I doubt that he is going to stay in Dortmund past this upcoming summer as Dortmund are unlikely to quality for the CL. Let alone that "famous" buyout clause. Regardless of him extending his contract or not then I don't see him staying in Dortmund. Half of Europe are interested in him. Top clubs that need him much more than FCB needs him.

Also I find him slightly overrated too.

Then let's start with the imagination that not every black, tall player is a holding midfielder by nature.

But seriously we're not getting Pogba if Real wants him, the only way we get players over them is if they specifically want to play for us, they got that franco money.

This.

While I agree that his signing would be unnecessary at the moment (we don't know how it'll look like in 2016) I'd take him for that price. Absolute bargain.

It depends, however, on his and more importantely on the coach's decision. He knows that he (probably) won't be a starter here. If he still wants to join, why not? Furthermore, the coach should decide wether he wants him or not. He shouldn't be signed just to prevent him from going to Real or Bayern.
Finally, it's essential that his signing wouldn't affect other signings which are way more crucial for the team as it looks now.

He's not overrated, on the contrary actually. Reus is a top player. Complete attacker.

Depends on the eyes that see. If you like me are familiar with the Spanish media and the constant rumors that surround his name and Spanish forums you would understand my claim.

Reus is a fantastic player but given how much certain fans want him at the club I find the hype not warranted.

Anyway at the end of the day the manager (Lucho or somebody else) is going to decide whether he will be necessary or not should he want to move to FCB.

The great hype came from a couple of seasons ago where Barca was starving for attacking production not coming from Messi. Back then without Neymar and with a misfiring Alexis, Barca only had a 'shadow of his former self' Villa and 'starting to underperform' Pedro. Reus meanwhile, was tearing it at Dortmund. People rightfully got hype over him.

Hype has died down as the need for him died down as well. He still the same great player though.

Acc. to Catalan sources or so I've read, Reus figures in Barto's electoral program. Marco, better go hide. Barto's coming to get you! :bartomeu:

He'd do a fantastic job here, no doubt. He is world-class and proved it for years now although several injuries affected his performances in 2014.

He isn't able to bench Messi, Suarez or Neymar (although I believe that he could challenge Neymar for the spot) and that's where the problem is. If we hadn't bought Suarez or Neymar, Reus would have been the ideal signing.
