Barca never keeps players against their will. I think that approach is the right one and sends a message to every current and future players that the club isn't some kind of prison.

PSG have every right to keep Verratti, and if Verratti truly wants to come here then it's mostly on him for signing a new contract with them. Then again, I don't get why you'd keep an unhappy player with all that entails.

tbf, Barca is that way up the pecking order that they must not worry about players using them as a stepping stone. It's usually different for smaller clubs who are desperate to keep their stars together to maintain competetive.
