I really don't think the biggest issue is with PSG, it's with Barcelona. Can Barcelona make an offer of 100m+? It seems we can't and Barto is making excuses and blaming PSG.

Are you saying Barcelona requested a meeting and PSG refused? Do you think a president of a club like PSG will refuse to meet another president of a major club? As far as I know, there was no official bid from Barcelona for Verratti. Barcelona strategy so far is just waiting for Verratti to cuz sever problems so PSG can sell him cheap.

Yes, that's exactly what's happening. I'm not big fan of Barca board, but you can't blame them for every evil thing in this world. The newspapers reported when Barca tried to reach out to PSG the answer was "Barca is wasting time with Verratti". Barto signaled to PSG that he wants eliminate the middle men and directly negotiate with Nasser and the answer was silence. Please stop that crap about Barca not willing to offer decent amount of money, if this was the case all french newspapers will be screaming that Barca wants to rob PSG and the payer wouldn't put himself in this bad position if he had doubts that Barca will show up with bag of money.

I guess barca already offered 100M £ for him, but p$g rejected the offer claiming the player is not for sall.
Looks like Verratti drama is still on. L'Equipe says regardless his apology the damage to the PSG image is already done, maybe Nasser is too dumb(and full of himself) to realize this but in Paris they perceive Verratti as a prisoner. At the end they can make great money by selling the player, bring more harmony in dressing room(looks like other players are not happy with preferential treatment) and restore the image of the club. I read an article regarding Verratti being the basis of the project and it was making a good point that 1 person cannot be the culprit of entire project and soon PSG owners realize that better for them.

I don't think we could afford him and if we could our board will fuck it up. i don't think the people in Paris are mad at Verratti they will blame his agent, hes already distancing himself from those prisoner comments.
if this saga dragging on means we don't buy Paulinho im all for it though, atleast it buys us more time to look for alternatives.

If it is going to happen it suits no one for it to be end of August.
PSG would want it to be earlier to spend the money would guess.

Actually I'm convinced in the opposite. If we buy Verratti sooner, they will concentrate all the money on the purchase and will not waste any cash on stupid purchases. The name of Paulinho surfaced when Verratti purchase chances started to shrink.
Do you really think PSG has cash shortage? PSG might play revenge and delay the process to increase the misery for Barca. I'm sure they are currently enjoying the potential motion of early re-election. They might just delay this to bring more chaos to the club.

Never said anything about them having a cash shortage but they will have a limit on what they can spend and if need to get in replacement for Verratti wont want to wait until end of August.
