He's done very well, especially considering he had to play in less than favorable defensive circumstances for a good part of the season (Zeman)

Like Andreas said somewhere, a new defender won't solve our problems. It's all about the philosophy. With a good new defender, we will lose 3-1 instead of 4-0 to Bayern. They are mentally and physically so much stronger than we are. And their defence is IMO on the same level as ours (on good days). But in their team, EVERYONE defends. Mandzukic, Ribery and Robben work in the back, not so much like Cavani did yesterday but they work for their team. Here we have Messi, the best player in the world but no one can deny that he stands nearly the whole game. Then we have Iniesta and Xavi who are not decent in defending at all. Only Busquets works well in the defence. Then we have Alves who sometimes works great in the attack but then he has to run so many miles because he does not manage it to stay in the back. Same for Alba though he works decent on his position.
IMO Tito should improve the philosophy on his team. Football changed over the years, but Tiki-Taka didn't. So we have to adapt to the new style of play. Only then, a good defender will improve our team.
