I'm not sure about the legality of a unilateral termination clause. Would have to be structured in a way that in a sporting context is proof of not at a satisfactory level to perform. For example what if it is solely based off of league performance and can be unilaterally activated by either player or club if the player does not complete 5% of the compulsory league minutes.

Clearly you got to be a disaster to not get 170 minutes over a whole league season. And obviously this would not apply to GKs. But atleast it would give a little semblance of power to the club who have sub-level players who refuse to leave.

Utter rubbish! The clubs (not just Barca) should stop being arrogant idiots and think this is a one way street. They agreed to a contract. Now fullfill it. As in any other employee/employer relationship. You want to get rid of the player. Fine. Pay out his contract and be done with it. Or just dont give him the contract in the first place. It is tiresome to read all these comments about fans who feel the club is entitled to be absolute douchebags when it suits their agenda.

I am waitign for a day when players will be paid by their effect on the team results... They all have mouthfull of contracts and their rights but then they score 1g in say 30g and say: i did my best. I have been 8weeks out of office due illnes and unablr to come to my workplace... Guess what, I did my work remotely. Because I want to be paid. I want to do my job so I can earn... These leeches that think they are "entitled to something" because they have it on paper but still they work and play like shit and act like they did their best... Fire the fucker...

Just dont register him or let him train with first team.

If he wants to stay for the money above playing time then little is lost as going to have to pay him up anyway.

I cannot believe we?re paying 6m per season for this clown. I changed my opinion on him the moment he decided to stick around when unwanted. Seek a new challenge, find a club that fits your level, and move on. Have some pride.

The amount of folk that used to support this utter dud....never been remotely close to good enough and one of worst players ever seen play for club.

Has absolutely nothing team needs.

That day won't come anytime soon, cause most contracts are currently playercentric the way business is customer centric so you gotta pay him out if you want him out before his contract expires, same thing applies when coaches are sacked.

I don't get it. While back when Barcelona was singing him everyone, even non Barca fans knew that this transfer is ridiculous. As I remember Barca reasoning was that we need ST now and that's why we will overpay. Everyone knows it. If you pay someone 6M and somewhere else he can get 2M don't expect him to just say ok. It is Barcelona to blame not player.

BTW if Barcelona didn't sign him I wouldn't even know such player exists.

But if he joins another club, we only pay the difference between what we owe him and what he is currently earning at his new club. I believe?

He wants Barca to pay him full remaining contract to go and then get another salary on top of that.

If they release him and all he got is the difference would be surprised if he just plays for someone else for next to nothing and gets paid in full by Barca anyway.

It isnt that simple just to release a player and think only need to pay difference of current contract and could be challenged by players in court if they are willing to go down that route.

Every club in the world tries to sell players they dont want, why is it different for Barca? There's no way we should give him the full 2 years and then he gets another wage somewhere else on top of that. A years pay is a reasonable offer in situations like this. If he doesnt agree then fine keep him, pay him but don't play him ever. Pretty stupid move on his part with a World Cup coming up.

Because we're the only elite club struggling so much with wage bill and player registrieren.

Bartomeu left behind a bunch of ridiculously overpaid bums on long contracts.

Not every club sells successfully, Madrid couldn't sell Isco, Bale and they all left on free this season. PSG are struggling to sell their players (Neymar clearly refused to go and is now performing well) and would end up loaning some, so it's challenging to sell players when the other club isn't offering the player a similar salary to what you were paying them as the players would obviously refuse to leave, so that's why clubs opt for loan sometimes and pay part of the wages and also the downside of offering high wages
