Sources from Mallorca claim that negotiations with Martin Braithwaite are not going well because the player asked for a higher salary than he currently earns at Barcelona!

LOOOL
He is really shameless...
Let him only on the stands and in individual training for the remaining 2 years of his contract
Would be the perfect nemesis for this clown

Why would we give away a player that is better than Messi. Drop lewa and put this lad in his place, easy cl win.

Deadline day loan to Mallorca with us covering a large % of his wages written all over this.

But hopefully we can force a free transfer before then.

Marca is reporting that he will accept termination of contract if he gets 5M compensation.

Now a lot of "if" here but...

If those 5M are gross, his salary in total for next 2 years is 12M or more as reported, and he is willing to negotiate it being paid in installments.
Then it is good deal for us, and can't blame him

Don't thing it's gross.

He wants 5M in his pocket, aka net.
He was about to get 6m net for his last 2 years. We could save 1m net, which 2m Gross.

It's not 0, but still don't see it as a good deal for us.

It's far better if we pay him back in the only form that can hurt him.
Let him be on his contract, stands, individual training.
He will never play again for Denmark, everyone will forget his existence

Like he wil care about people knowing about his existence. Dude just want his money and take care of his family. He will not give up one cent and if he has no issue coming to training for the next two years. Sitges/Gava area is a lovely place to live.

Lol, you know how it is. He probably has a great support system at home and most likely only cares about that. In a few years, he'll be out of competitive football, living his life and this episode would be long forgotten.

I get why some fans are angry though, but the club put themselves into this situation and both parties are looking out for their own interest, and that's why I can't get angry at this however it ends.

Well, it seems to me he cares playing for Denmark.

In any case, even if he doesn't care, that's the best punishment for him.
No termination with pay-off, so he can't play elsewhere.
Every choice in life carries with it a price to be paid

First off, you are basing this numbers on 50% tax, which is a lazy /Barca reddit calculation. taxes in Spain is around 45%.
Club pay wages gross, not net btw.
The rumoured contract is 12M remaining, 5M net is 9M gross so 3M savings.

But the whole 5M net is pure guess, and it seems you are inclined to it because you seem pretty convinced he is just a greedy piece of shit.
But as I covered before, Braithwaite reported annual salary is 6M, players of his caliber earn 2.5M-3M.
Seems like 5M figure is simply to cover the difference in wage.
He can fuck off to Mallorca, getting paid 3M gross or so as a free transfer and be their top player for 2 years, we pay 5M and he can accept being in better place football wise for 1M (550K net) pay cut over 1 year.
For me this sound more reasonable guess

Legacy aka nostalgia is huge part of many footballers mind tbf, Sure at some point they know money matters more but they all probably want more cool story to tell their kids/grand children about world cup participation

STill...

Even if we save 3M gross with this deal, we will still help him keep playing football and get his pay-off!

He has blackmailed the club, refused to cooperate on a mutual solution, refused to listen to offers, and you say it's a good deal to give him what he wants despite all that???

No thanks.
And Allemany seems to be on board with this
