For me starting anyone but Braithwaite at the 9 position in this system is like starting a CB at fullback; just doesn't quite fit. He does lack an awful lot of quality and mostly headless. Does a couple of things well that is important to the structure and shape of the team: hounds the opposition defence, is physically strong enough to battle the CB's, ok with back to goal. These things allow the wide players more space, allows Messi and Pedri to play between the lines more often. Only current alternative is Messi as 9 or Griezmann. Can't see that being any good.
