^That's not how things stand right now IMO. Alves on a bad day still brings more to our attack than Montoya on a great day. Montoya is a limited player in offense, and since Lucho sees his fullbacks as attacking weapons first, it's no surprise he's the 3rd choice after Alves and Douglas.
Montoya is your typical fullback for a 6th to 10th place La Liga team.

If its GodswillInter Milan are monitoring the situation of right back Martin Montoya (23). They will soon sound out Barcelona about a move in January. [qs]
Hopefully we can let him go, but it looks impossible, Dani leaves next season and we will be left with Douglas. I want the best for Martin and Lucho doesn't seem to like him.
Can't hurt giving him a chance in the next few games. Unless he is being a lazy ass with an attitude in training.
Something tells me no matter how hard he's training he won't get a chance.
Unless someone wants to try and argue that Pique is a harder worker than Bartra.
And yes Montoya needs to play, with Mathieu performance at LB ,I think that Montoya isn't only or best back up RB but best back up LB too ,Adriano is too injury prone and Mathieu is below average and fits better at CB he is the only one there
so whether he is living up to his potential or not, whether he Barca quality or not he is the only sub we have to rest 2 starters and we have to live with that and try to get the best out of him
