Lucho says he likes Montoya's attitude. Called it "Exemplary", even. Then said he just has to be patient.

We're totally losing this kid in January...

Because of the transfer ban we can not allow to sell any player basically. We have a small squad with some injury prone players.
Some youngsters should be promoted and trusted of course but there should not be too much pressure on them.

For all we know Montoya might be gone then as well leaving us with Douglas. :pep:

I think they will try to renew Alves' contract for an additional year if the the transfer ban appeal to CAS is rejected.

If Lucho wanted Montoya to stay he'd have let him play at some point this season. The way our entire back line has been handled is absolutely appalling overall. Montoya doesn't play because no matter how Alves performs, he's still Alves. Bartra doesn't play because no matter how much Mascherano gets destroyed or how generally shit Pique is, they're still Pique and Mascherano. And don't even get me started on our two new CB signings who didn't actually play CB for one reason or another in our biggest game.

He won't play against Celta. Neither will Bartra, most likely. But it's alright, because they're not perfect.

PATRIC!?! Montoya is miles better than Patric. With Douglas and Patric we might as well just field 10 players. There would be no difference.

+1 Well said.
In addition to Montoya I simple cannot understand why Bartra can't get a decent run of matches. He's currently better than Pique and more sound @ CB than Mascherano. Bartra - Mathieu - Alba should be 3 of our 4 defenders leaving Montoya/Alves to battle to start. Lucho has to be brave enough to choose the right players and not revert to the easy choice and playing Xavi-Busquets-Iniesta again.
