True, he used to be a very good defender and an even better attacker, I seriously don't know how anyone could still lable him world class and claim he's never been better because that's an insult to him.

If Montoya has dominated Cristiano,
I wonder what Carvaja is gonna do to Neymar. It's gonna be sad ( for us cules).
Although I dislike real, Carvajal seems to be the better player. Neymar won't be able to breath.

What I was saying is that: If Montoya ( a good right back) has been able to hold Cristiano, what will Carvajal do to Neymar? ( i believe Carvajal is a better right back than Montoya and I believe Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Neymar). I'm not comparing Carvajal and Neymar.

Montoya is better. There is a reason Carvajal sits the bench for the U-21's and Montoya starts, even though Carvajal was a regular at Leverkusen this year.

I remember another one he hit the bar also.
But cant really remember him ever domianting Ronaldo in a game.

That's like saying that Albiol is one of the best defenders in Spain simply b.c he's always call to the national team eve though he never plays. Sometimes, managers have favorites and that can not be changed as long as the team keeps winning. Compare Montoya and Dani alves this season, who looks the beeter player? I think we all ( or most) agree that Montoya is a better player than Dani Alves even if he's not prefered. Is Thiago Better than cesc? most of us agree to this, yet Cesc is always played. Carvajal has not been a starter b.c he didn't begin the process with everyone else. Montoya has been Spains right back before Carvajal was noticed. Montoya is a great RB but in my opinion, Carvajal is a beast ( better).

He didn't but at least, he wasn't humiliated by him. In a way, Montoya has held Cristiano from humiliating him.

Montoya did pretty well against Cristiano considering he's a youngster and Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world but he did by no means dominate him. Alves is at this point still a lot better at 1-on-1's than Montoya. I don't expect Carvajal to have Neymat or anyone else in his pocket as Montoya is better than him but still struggles against fast, tricky opponents.

I bet a lot of right backs come off the park thinking they have done well against Ronaldo though.
He rarely tries too much against the right back but a quick pass, most of his danger in his movement off the ball and sneaking his way into the box or behind the center backs.
He doesnt seem too intent on trying to beat full backs with the ball for a shot or a cross.
