José Luis Sánchez: En el entrenamiento del Real Madrid se han sorprendido con la gran calidad de Martín Odegaard. Pese a su juventud ha mostrado su talento. (https://twitter.com/JLSanchez78/status/553207794263150592)

Translation: Real Madrid were surprised by the high quality of Martin Odegaard during todays training. Despite his youth he has shown his talent.

Yes, lure him with false promise and shit-tons of money. I can so not stand that club.

Can't say I know the guy personally but got to love the kid's attitude and integrity...
Not a single word to anybody,be it from his Twitter/Instagram accounts or to the press; looks like the polar opposite of Mastour thus far
(video below showing him not giving the media the least bit of hint, guess this is what all young talents need to do)

And given his status in Norway as the "hope of the nation" and his club visits being blown way out of proportion,he hasn't actually been spotted all that many times...Just a few shots of him training with Liverpool&Bayern, him watching Atletico-Real last night and that's practically all he disclosed.
The rest is media-created bunk, most of which probably isn't even true.

All over the Norwegian news now that he has chosen Real Madrid. The local newspaper in the town where he was born apparently broke the news. Negotiations on price and personal contract to be started tonight or tomorrow morning. Transfer fee most likely to be around 2,2m Euros. He will come directly into Real Madrids first team squad.

Sure it's such a bad move? I'm pretty sure it could be a good move for his career. I hope he does well and gets success there, but if he doesn't, RM does have a decent track record of first team players that developed there but didn't quite make the cut and moved on only to have good careers elsewhere. Training every day with the first team alone will make him progress a lot. I think he has what it takes to eventually become a success story there as well. Let's see!

Well, thats the problem. They have a decent track record of players wasting their time there and eventually having to move elsewhere.

Valuable time wasted there could have been better spent at a team who knows how to develop their talented players.

And he is only 16 and got atleast a good 3-4 years before being anywhere good enough for a spot and regular playing time at an elite team like Real Madrid

please see careers of pedro leon, sergio canales, illaramendi lol. They had a much bigger hype train and look what happened to them. He would be very stupid to let his agent take him there.

He has stars in his eyes, what you expect? It's like when young players actually sign for Chelsea thinking they have a chance.

I don't share the sentiment that training with Real Madrids first team under Ancelotti could in any way be called "wasted time" for his development, even if you look at the most pessimistic scenario where he doesn't make the cut there in the future and gets sold. Playingtime is important, but even more important is everyday training, and training with RMs first team on a daily basis is an opportunity extremely few players get to experience, let alone a 16 year old in development. His days will be spent breathing football with some of the best players in the world, I can't see how that could be anything but gold for someone of his talent.

RM play in 3 competitions every year, not counting friendlies and club world cup rarities. There will be many posibilities for cameos in smaller matches or late substitutions for him.

Maybe so, but afaik none who actually made it at Real. It is a really stupid move. If he wants to play at Hannover or maybe even for Juventus' bench, then it might have been a good decision. Who knows.
