Yeah, its pretty crazy. Would you prefer Pogba for 120m or Kovacic for 60m? Allan is a Brazilian CM who plays for Udinese. Fast, strong, great passer and dribbler, superb work rate. Chelsea, Inter, Arsenal and others are linked with him. His contract expires in 2016 and he is not CL tied. He could be a great purchase for us IMO, like Rakitic was.

First of all. Who said that we are paying 120m for Pogba?

And even if what you are saying is true, and Juventus are indeed asking 120m for Pogba and Inter are asking 70m for Kovacic, then both of those teams can keep their players and we can keep our euros.

If Real Madrid or Chelsea or PSG or United are willing to pay so much cash for any of those players, then what do we have to lose?

120m is just what is rumoured. Of course, like any deal, it is likely to a mix of objective based fees and fixed fees, like 90m+30m based on various objectives like winning the CL etc.

But these are the sums that seem to be mentioned when we are linked with Pogba.

I do agree with you that other players are preferable instead of splashing these crazy sums of money. Allan from Udinese will probably be available for 15m considering he has only 6 months left on his contract in January 2016.

I've never seen a figure close to 120m being mentioned regarding Pogba. The only thing I've read is a 70m bid being rejected by Juventus. And even that wasn't confirmed by reliable sources.

There were rumours of us making a 78M€ bid + Pedro OR Montoya OR Deulofeu. People probably thought it's money+Pedro+Montoya+Deulo :VdB:

Still a better bet than kovacic for us.
A better player, more experienced, more talented, in better form, wont cost us a dime, acquainted with the team, fellow players, la masia product, has lucho's trust, and his role is increasingly growing, he knows his role and plays good, and has had a number of good performances, we won't suffer because of maladaptation as we would with kovacic simce Rafinha has been here and has alreeady adapted,

Kovacic as iniesta replacement?
He has similar style of play but talentwise i doubt he will reach anywhere close to iniesta level
I disagree on all accounts, except on the fact that he has Luchos trust and knows his place on the team, and thats bench. He is year and a half older then Kovacic and plays for the best team in the world. His job when he plays for Barca is to press alot and, at best, find space with his dribbles. His vision and passing is far from special unlike his older brother, and aside from being a solid sub he has shown absolutely nothing to warrant first team play in coming years.

Kovacic on the other hand is playing for big Italian club that is currently mid table team and was said to be centrepiece od new Inter for years to come until Manchini came. Now, he doesnt give him too many minutes and adimitedly when he gets them he doesnt set the world on fire BUT, there are flashes of absurd talent when he gets the ball in his feet. He is ultimately better passer in space when compared to rafinha, and his vision is flat out better. There is not a single club in the world interested in Rafinha, while even with dip in the form Barcelona (and Liverpool and Man Utd) would pay handsome money for him.

He just has higher ceeling, thats undeniable fact. I know Rafinha is La Masia kid but so was Bojan and Deulofeu and countless others. Based on his performance from juniors till now Rafinha doesnt look like someone Barca is counting to be first team player.

Every team out there knows that we suck when it comes to negotiations. That's why they come up with these insane transfer fees...Just tell them to fuck off and move on..

We did offer 30m last summer for Mateo but they declined. To give anything more then 30m for him now would be crazy, same with 70m+ talk and Pogba. No body is worth more then 70m except Bale perhaps :neymar:

Has kovacic shown anything that makes him look like an iniesta replacement? You said it yourself that he has been in poor form. Also refer to posts 214 and 215 by DonAK and TrickyKid.
Rafinha has been deemed better, and the way he plays passes the eye-test as well.
Again why would we want kovacic while we have Rafinha in the team? Rafinha is better and farther in his level of development, and has experience with barca and has already played with us and has more synergy with team mates, and his role is increasing and he has very good acquaintance with coach and so on and so on.

I am sorry but i think buying "wonderkids" for the first team is a bad idea. We need players who can start for us, and let rafinha samper and co be the wonderkids

Imo, Kovacic has shown more glimpses of being the next Iniesta than Rafinha.
We were watching videos of Pogba the other day.
Look at this. Kovacic just has "something" that resembles to Barca's Dna.
He is raw, still inconsistent and everything, but he just has our DNA (and I like his overall play much more than Pogba's, for our style)

(People talk about Neymar's high ceiling in his thread.
Well, imo, this guy has insane ceiling also.
The question is though, whether he will ever reach his full potential...)
