Let's not be too harsh on him, no one has ever shined with Palacio on their team

I think he was pretty good today.

I don't think that I am harsh at all. Look at the grades that the main Italian papers gave him for that first half. He was very poor. Only in the second half did he start to play well but he was playing against a 9 man Lazio team.

Today, as I already wrote, he was playing at home against Juventus's B team that have nothing to play for other than pride. Still his team lost.

Sorry but Óliver Torres > Kovacic every day of the week and at night too.

He wasnt utilized as much in the first half of that game, thats all, he was brilliant against Lazio when they played at home as well, so its not like he needs to play against 9 players.

But, but.. he was playing against Juventus B team man, Juventus B team!

Did I mention Juventus B team? Oh Leo_Messi already mentioned that 10 times already.

Quite hilarious how Croatia have Modric, Rakitic and Kovacic, but can't utilize any of them thanks to their coach.

Juve better hope Pogba has a wonder game in the CL final, or else they will look like fools for rejecting a 70m offer, usually a game is not enough to judge what a players value is, but since Juve is rating him above 70m, you'd think he had won 2 CL's with him being the star.

It is nevertheless true and I think that I mentioned it 3 times because people were omitting the circumstances of the opponents of Inter Merda. I never said anything about him being bad today. Maybe your anger of today's defeat is clouding your judgement.

You claimed that he was MoM and was bossing the game. I told you that he was not the MoM and that he had a poor first half. "Utilized wrongly" or not. He played very well in the second half where Inter happened to play with 2 more players for 35 minutes.

Of course you can choose to omit all of those "small" details if you want to but that does not make my claims any less accurate.

I was angry when I came here after Inter lost the match "against Juventus B team who had nothing to play for but their pride", then I saw an AC Merda fan laughing at Inter for flopping and I couldn't stop laughing. Thx for changing my mood.

No, I didnt. I said he played great in his last game against Lazio, just as he played great when Inter played Lazio at home as well. He is a very intelligent player and IMO always one of the standouts whenever I see them play. Thats just my opinion of course.

Have I missed anything or is this the Inter thread or an Inter forum? I already told you that you can laugh all that you want to. Nobody is preventing you from laughing. No sane person will deny the fact that AC Milan are ridiculous bad this season as well either.

Does that change the reality of what I wrote one bit? Nah, I thought so.

Well, I might have misunderstood your post then. Went back and saw your post. You wrote that he "bossed it" to which I replied that this was the case only in the second half where Inter happened to play with 1 more player and with 2 more after 60 minutes of that game.

Nobody has denied that he is a talented player at least not me. Nor have I written anything about him being anything but above average today.

The circumstances of those performances should just not be forgotten or ignored if you want to look at the greater picture.

While Kovacic was not bad today he was playing against Juventus' B team that had nothing to play for other than pride and all the other factors I have mentioned.
I won't be impressed by that. Just like I won't be impressed by 30 minutes of good football against a 9 man Lazio team all while he was nowhere to be send in the first half as the grades also show.

While he is talented he is clearly too inconsistent and not the most talented midfielder out there that we could potentially buy. That's just my opinion.

Consistency is his only problem, for now.
But on the other hand, we use that excuse in every opportunity for some other (our young) players.

Also, it is not as if he plays good for the last 2 matches.
He plays like today for the last 3-4 years, except that he is better and better each Season, he is definitely improving.

Quite hilarious how Croatia have Modric, Rakitic and Kovacic, but can't utilize any of them thanks to their coach.

Croatia managed to promote to knockout rounds only once at all tournaments since 1998.
We have a few world class players, but very weak/average players on some other areas, and as a team, we usually "miss" something to make a better result.

Consistency is alfa omega and I already wrote that this is the case with him. From what I have seen he is still a far "too cold and hot" kind of player. Of course he is still young and can improve and he is likely to do that. The point here is that there are better and more consistent midfield talents out there if you ask me and I argued why that is. At the same time I also argued why I would not be against us buying him if we also bought an established midfield player alongside him.

As I wrote earlier in this thread then I have not watched every single game of Inter this season (far from it) but from what I have seen myself (a handful of games and I have tried to catch every Inter game since the rumors of us buying him intensified last month or at least catch the highlights) he is what we both wrote, too inconsistent for now.

That's also what I can gather from reading the Italian press and Inter forums. So I don't think that I am entirely wrong here.
