If we have to buy Gundogan in order to still buy Kovacic then so be it. If that is the case, I feel bad for Rafinha.

Rakitic, Iniesta, Busquets, Kovacic, Rafinha and throw in Samper as a squad player would have been great for me. Kovacic as starter and Iniesta as alternate with Rafinha starting cup games and frequent sub with ocssasional start. That won't happen if they sign Gundogan.

I think we have one like jim in rafinha who is getting better and better day after day and already has adapted and like neymar will likely achieve his full potential in the second season while acuainted with everything.
You dont throw such a pleyer for a new player who may be talented but is also known to be inconsistent and who we dont even know if will fit in well with other players or not, whether he will adapt or not, whether he will find favor in the coach or not and yet cost us fortunes. If rafinha will show us the form he showed at celta when he won the breakthrough player of the year then that should be enough for us.
No need to add nother similar player, with the doubt of him flopping just like any other transfer because that is a very big possibility with any signing especially younger players
