We have Gumbau and Gerson now.
Our midfield is secured for the next 10 years :troll:

Edit: Anyway, Kovacic plays much deeper in the new formation.

Meh,we have Arda & Iniesta .midfield should only be built by veterans .no place for young players like him
Sorry,couldn't help

If we can get him in the next tran. window and give him some minutes in copa/liga, he could be regular starter in the season 16/17.
I think he'll mature plenty in seasons to come. Isco has had plenty of minutes on the pitch ever since he came to RM. I don't see any reasons why wouldn't Mateo have the same opportunity if he would have come here.

I really don't see where Suarez would fit. A lot of the midfielders are better suited to play Rakitic's role in our system, Rafinha is more suited to the right side too because he is left-footed. Arda is good for Iniesta's position but he's 29 too, getting him made me stop asking for Kovacic. I like the Arda signing, because he is suited to instantly come in and be able to make a great impact during Messi's prime, but Kovacic is basically flirting with the line of being ready and being something very, very special.

Speed, accelleration, dribbling and ball control, good vision, able to play long balls. Hard to dispossess. The kid has insane talent and great physical qualities. Not to mention he can play as CM and more defensively too like they are using him now (which I don't think is getting the best out of him". He's basically perfect for Iniesta's position. Has Iniesta's qualities and had the workrate and defensive grit that Lucho requires from our CMs.

Isn't Suarez perfect match for Iniesta's position? I'd ditch Rafinha for him if they are the two to compete. I can understand buying established player like Turan, especially given how well he gels with Lucho's mentality, but why buy another young prospect, when there a shitloads of our own?

It really depends on how you rate the youth talent. Sergi Roberto to me is nothing special. People praise him for a "solid" performance but it's always against pretty weak opposition. He can cover multiple positions decently, like Adriano was for a while with us, but to me that is all he will ever be- a decent squad player. Rafinha has talent but he is left-footed so he'll always be at his best playing high up centrally or on the right side- places where we have much better options at the moment. Denis Suarez is another player that seems "ok" to me despite still being young. I have to admit I've only watched him play 3-4 games for Sevilla but I remember each time not being too impressed.

I've watched Kovacic a lot this year after being linked with him the previous summer and while he has been hot and cold at times, he was just 20 years old last season and he showed some incredible talent throughout the season. He has those moments where you say "damn, that kid just has it". The way he turns with the ball in tight spaces, the way he leaves players behind with one turn and his speed in just a moment- breathtaking. Inter Milan sucks and the Italian league is weak atm compared to the past but at the same time talent is talent, and he has showed plenty of it. When and if he takes the next step, which is being more consistent and imposing himself on the game more regularly, he is going to be world class and worth a fortune. Our youth have a lot of talent, but to me, already given what Kovacic has shown, his ceiling is massive. He is exactly what we need at LCM.

I'd rather have a La Masia kid, but if none of them work out I agree with you and say go for Kovacic!

They are two very different players, but as far as the LCM position goes- Kovacic would be much more suited for it. Verratti would be better suited as RCM for us. No one can argue that Verratti is the better player at the moment though- he has shown consistency, shown up in the big games and is proven world class- even at a young age. They are both my favorite two young midfielders.
