I thought Hummels was great. Calm and in position.

I can never understand why we spent millions on DM Alex Song? we have world class players in Mascherano and Busquets to cover that position. Why couldn't we just buy Hummels or any good defender. I get very frustrated when I see how we suffer in defense for years now. Love Mascherano and want him to stay but should be backup during defensive crisis. And yeh those saying we have Abdial, just forget about it! he's not coming back and if he does then it will be a farewell appearance.

I really can't believe that anyone claiming he is a beast etc judging from tonight's game against Madrid actually watched the entire match.He had a few good glimpses but other than that he was slow,caught of position many times and made a couple of silly mistakes.Subodic had a better game imo.

He didn't have that great of a game honestly, some glimpses of great passes but he was indeed caught out of position multiple times and I've also pointed out in the past that he is very slow...we don't need more slow CBs in our team, we need the opposite. We play a high backline, it'd be nice to have someone with speed to watch over it, much like Abidal did time and time again cleaning up messes with his pace.

I agree to some extent. They did play Real Madrid, whatever we might think they are a great team with a great attacking force. CR, Özil and Di Maria can make any defender/defence look like a bunch of amateur players, we have to keep that in mind.
Still think he did good, but you are also right about the fact that he looks slow - and we don't need another Chygrynskiy on our team.

Hummels and Subotic were amazing again vs Real Madrid. I would gladly accept either one of them. Real Madrid tried and tried but couldn't get through until Ozil scored that very nice free kick(I'm surprised Ronaldo let him take it. Ozil should take more FKs for Real).

I want to know Hummels' price, he is my favourite pick of the Barca defender they should buy but he renewed his contract last year.
There is no possibility to get kompany or thiago silva but Hummels must be possible.
I prefer him coming over Neymar, that can happen after the world cup but a defender is necesary.

Hummels should stay, I want Dortmund to become even stronger. Besides, he's way too slow for the way we play.

We'll have to wait and see. We will not buy a CB untill next summer, untill than we just might see that Bartra and maybe Muniesa could take a couple of steps forward. Besides, sometimes players surprises everybody and just evolve out of the blue and there's still 10 months untill the transfer window closes.

sure hummels did a good job today but imo neven subotic was better than him.. physical and with great pace .. although some nice tacklings...would consider him insead of hummels

Subotic is a bit quicker than him and also more willing to make those last ditch tackles, but Hummels is the better reader of the game and more calculated.
