Mats Hummels

He is a very smart guy. He is absolutely happy in Dortmund and sees that this team isn't at the end of its development.
There is a lot more to achieve and I think Hummels want to be a part of it. Last year he renewed his contract till 2017.
I just cant see him leave now.

In 3-5 years its a different story.

So? Balasz Dszudszak renewed his contract with PSV Eindhoven just a couple of months before leaving for 15M. It is thought is was just a deal between club and player to maximize transfer revenue and to minimize the chance of the club trying to hold onto him.

And please, 5 years before Hummels leaves? He is 24 atm, perfect time to move to a bigger club. He won't stay in Dortmund until his 29th unless they really become a European superpower, which I don't see happening. I do see them maybe be a recurring last 16/last 8 CL team.

European superduperpowers like City or Madrid maybe? Two teams they beaten just few months ago?

Maybe they should re-locate the team to England and call it Borussia Birmingham before they are proven.

You are talking nonsense, and you know it. They may have beaten those teams, but that does not mean Borussia Dortmund is at once one of the largest clubs. What I mean by European superpower, and we can disagree of course, is a team that consistently does well in the CL. So yes, now BD may be doing well, but they are no where near the level of FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich. Not saying those are the only ones, just naming some that really come to mind.

And don't take this as hating on Dortmund or anything, liked the club way before the recent top years. Just saying that Hummels has every right to make a next step and that next step is moving to a bigger club that consistently fights for top spots and trophies nationally as well as on the international stage.

Just Hummels can replace Puyol, nor David Luiz or someone else.
Matts has very good ball controll so he with Pique could be great duo.

With all due respect, Hummels is an outstanding talent and arguably the best german CB at the moment but he isn't fit to tie Puyis' laces let alone replace him.
If Hummels can ever exhibit 10 years of leading a defense let alone a team, keeping the defenders in line while providing a performance enhancement of a whole team due to his sheer presence, we'll talk about that again. Hell, I'll just let Xavi do the talking:

"Puyol is the key, not just because he is one of the best defenders in the world but because of his character. He never lets up."

Or Pique for that matter:

"He's someone who, even if you're winning 3–0 and there's a few seconds left in the game will shout at the top of his voice at you if he thinks your concentration is going."

I can understand Tito's reservations (if the press were correct) regarding Hummels. He is class defender but we already have a similar player in Pique. Hummels is kinda slow too and not immune to blunder mistakes. When I think about it he's exactly like Pique and we could use a different kind of player. Preferably fast one since we play a high line.
