I wouldn't mind us buying Silva along with someone young like Marquinhos. Hummels definitely has his advantages though, like you said, he's younger and cheaper.

I think Silva + someone young would be the best option, though it'd probably be expensive as hell.

Hummels is slow as hell.. We need a fast, strong and agile defender next to Pique who can clear dangerous situations. We need a new Puyol. A kind of Kolo Toure of 2000-2007..
Hummels is a far cry from that and will make a terrible partnership with Pique..

Apparently he prefers Silva

I would be fine both with Silva and Hummels. Hummels is younger, cheaper and not as injury prone, but Silva is the best defender in the world hands down. I just hope we won't save money on other positions if we get Silva.
