Matthijs de Ligt

You made good arguments.

I was just predicting. United needs a lot of improvements; therefore I do not expect them to pay 50m for 19 CB when there are two better options for them Alderweireld and Maguire. In addition, Jose M is not a big fan of young players in general. Add to that their need for a RW which would cost at the very least 50m + a potential RB + a CM + a backup LB.

Regarding CFC. Cahill and Luiz could leave next summer and they wanted a CB earlier this summer. I expect them to get a new CB next summer; therefore, they could be going for De Ligt.

De Ligt is special though. What puts him apart from every other talented CB is his leadership and mentality and maturity on the field and off it.

He's kind of like Real Madrid spending 30m on Ramos when he was 19/20 which was unprecedented for a defender in Spanish Football at that time. Was well worth it for them.

Except he's not a horse like him, but just a comparison I would use. :p

There are other greatly talented CBs like Upamecano out there, but you don't get that leadership and pure winning mentality you get with De Ligt.

He can be aesthetically pleasing and rough and bleed for the shirt as cliché as that may sound.

His leadership and maturity is off limits, when you look at his age. That is so important skills to have if you are looking to break through to the world-class level of clubs, so that should assure every buyer of De Ligt, that he is a more safe gamble than most.

who is better, De ligt/Kauilibaly ?

8 year age difference alone makes it an odd comparison. Koulibaly is a versatile & more experienced player - has played everywhere in a back 4 & even as a holding midfielder. For Barcelona, no question De Ligt would be the more appropriate target as an heir to Pique

I think he'll end up at City somehow

At Juve, City, RM & Barca, he won't be a starter rightaway.

He could well end at Spurs, his pal Davinson plays there. Plus, at 19 he would prefer playtime and Spurs can provide that along with quality oppositions.
Same goes for Bayern.

Do you guys think it would've been better to get De Ligt insted of Lenget this year?

Is there any evidence that our board is interested in him?

Ronald de Boer has come up with some pretty interesting claims about Barcelona’s plans for the summer transfer window.

The Dutchman was talking on Fox Sports and said that Ernesto Valverde’s men are keen on two Ajax starlets.

“I talked with Barca scouts a few days back. They want to sign Frenkie De Jong and De Ligt this summer and send them back to Ajax for one more season.

tbf i haven't seen much of Lenglet at Sevilla apart from that performance vs United where he was pretty damn good. De Ligt has a higher ceiling and is younger though, from what i hear he wants to play in the PL which is why Pep and City would probably be perfect for him. he'd have competition but that hasn't stopepd City buying talented players in stocked positions.

maybe just me but i don't think someone like De Ligt would want to play in Italy/Bundesliga

Bayern and Spurs aren't selling clubs, they aren't a step for a bigger club unless you are ready to wait till your contract is up.
I don't see a reason a player like De Ligt would choose Spurs, it is a step over Ajax but he would have to wait half decade for the next step to come and same for Bayern(the later unlikely to be able to afford him)
Also in most cases it is about reaching agreement with the club more than what the player wants, player will get huge pay raise and signing bonus that they are unlikely to reject an agreement with their own club.
