playing in serie a will not develop him as much like in la liga or epl. italian league is not the same as it was 20 years ago.

Glad we are not wasting so much money on him. Pique was immense this season, and if we do replace him, i want a fast CB to play a high line. I am sick of one long ball over the top giving me a heart-attack. Who knows, maybe Umtiti will get surgery and it'll be fine. Then he and Lenglet can be the future pairing, two left footed CB's can play together, its not like they cannot kick with their right foot.

Juve is the perfect move for De Ligt right now imo

guaranteed league titles, gets to play with Cristiano, decent chance at the CL + many great defenders honed their skills in the Italian league (although granted its a far cry from those times now)

add to this the fact Juve won't tie him down like PSG would, Raiola and De Ligt can ask for a move in 3 years time and he'll still only be 22/23

I've had a feeling Juve would sign him. they were linked alot with Pogba this summer which would cost them their entire budget but after getting Rabiot on a free and Ramsay for midfield, its inevitable they are back in for De Ligt

hmmm. raiola tactics I say. he feeds them news to drive up his price even more. we'll see what happens this week. anyway, I really hope this saga is over soon. its been going on for way too long.

exactly. if juve are actually offering him 15-20m (the exact same number as it was reported for psg last week), then they should get the same amount of blame and the whole 'de ligt chose money' as psg does. that is insane money for a 19 yr old.

if Barca offers him 15-20m, I would honestly be mad that we signed him. We shouldnt spend this money on a young player esp. with our wage structure already fucked up.

If those numbers (15-20m) from Juventus are true then they have to be gross, not net. Barca is reportedly offering 7.5m which is net, if we factor in Spain's top tax bracket which is 45%, we are offering him about 14m gross.

I highly doubt we will up our offer. The threat to the wage structure is real. Unless Bartomeu goes crazy. I don't want us to up our offer.

Of course De Ligt is chasing money. The minute he hired Raiola shows that.
