Bayern would put the squeeze on him, he can't deal with physicality
Exactly. You can see he and Busquets are on the same wavelength- quick wall passes to keep the ball moving and the defenders chasing. When Puig offers himself short, chances are you are going to get the ball back in a better position. A lot of the players don't get that and either dwell on the ball or hoof a longer pass (into the crowd of defenders playing behind the ball).
That quality isn't there across the team right now which is why Xavi is playing differently and Puig isn't the first option.. As the team gets better, Puig will feature more prominently.
And there we go.. folk think passing quickly to first man available is impressive.
Adding next to nothing to help break Betis down.
That would be 3-0 down Barca are in minutes Puig has played in league since Koeman left. Top stuff.
I think "passing quickly to the first man" is a very stingy way to describe his game.
He did nothing spectacular but I think it was pretty visible that we progressed better and more smoothly in attack when he was around.
I don't have any major complaints about his performance. He came on unexpectedly in a difficult moment where we were playing poor and having to substitute our only midfielder who was having a decent game.
Got better once Dembele and Frenkie entered, which is also ironically when Betis scored.
This is it. The one you guys have been waiting for. Enjoy.
