Memphis Depay

"According to credible information from Gerard Romero, two teams in the English Premier League have tabled bids for Memphis Depay.

However, the offers made are below Barca's €20m valuation of the player."

Newcastle would probably be one of them since they want another striker.

Amazing how far we've come. He was our by far best attacker in first half of last season, now he's a 7th option if everyone stays healthy. Could argue he should be ahead of Ferran on the pecking order but we know Xavi loves FT.

He's way too good for that role imo so would only make sense to sell him and get whatever money we can instead of letting him go for free next year.

Ferran>Depay. For being a better fit alone.

that's subjective, I think Depay is better than Ferran, goals and assist stats in their career also suggest that Depay is far better with a g/a contribution of 0.64 per game to Ferran's g/a contribution of 0.34, even better than Fati's g/a ratio of 0.4, though you can argue that Fati is constantly injured. One more reason for Depay to stay is that Fati is injury prone, and hasn't played more than 10 league games in any of the last two seasons.

Depay is probably better at this moment but Ferran is also very young to play in a top team and presumably should grow more over the coming years.

If Ferran was a finished product it would be terrible but he's 22? Iirc and should have a lot of room for growth that can make our investment worth it down the line.

Depay is definitely better than Torres right now, but
1) no one would buy Torres for close to what we paid.
2) he's younger & xavi's first signing.
3) depay can be had relatively cheaply and help us with our net transfer spend.

So he as to go, I think Italy would be perfect for him.

He needs a certain system to thrive, most top teams don't do that for him & he doesn't want a smaller team.

A team like Napoli would be perfect for him

He'll also do good in Chelsea and sharpen their attack, I don't know why they aren't after him. A massive upgrade to Werner in the 9 position
