Memphis Depay

I see he's worth 45 mil on transfermarkt ?

I also saw he has better stats than Neymar ?

And we can also get him for free ?

It's a no brainer for me then. Him over trincao or braithwaite would be a massive improvement. Wonder if he agrees to sit sometimes on the bench.

I think for current barca he will be a big improvement

Do you want Barca to sign Depay? Leave as is on attacking options or sign someone else?

There is never a signing that has no question marks on them.

kind of mixed feelings about him. can't deny he is a baller, on the other hand we have all those question marks around him.

surely i would choose to sign him over wijnaldum.

Who doesn't have better stats in French league than Neymar? He was off

But yeah Depays stats are good.

I see him playing on the left.
He can't be playing centrally, as Messi will play either false-9 or 10 with Aguero being the CF.

Where does this leave Fati then?

Best would be rotation, just hope that Koeman doesnt love depay too much and put Fati (me  ) on the bench. Dont want to see him end as a Puig 2.0......

We can't really count on Fati after his surgeries. Let's just hope he recovers well and worry about playing time later, if he is healthy and his level is good.

1. because he operates in the same space as messi does? even the goals against scotland are goals messi would usually score for barcelona.

You keep saying this (well, obviously not only you), but it's just not true. His movement and the spaces he takes are comparable to Benzema if you want to find a comparison. I think Depay could be an excellent fit for Messi and Fati, moving where he has to be.

I am optimistic about Fati's return as well, I don't think he's done (mid-term at least).

Does he play with back to goal? Does he play one-twos? Does he occupy defenders to create space for others? Not strong enough to shrug challenges. Non-existent in aerial game.

Excellent fit for Messi? How?

Do you want Barca to leave the Depay signing and go with same as last season + Aguero?

Looks decent enough with back to goal and can run in behind as well from what have seen of him.

For a non-striker he has a pretty good back to goal ability actually, he pivots a lot in Lyon that way. He's obviously not prime Suarez but he can do the job better than the likes of Griezmann or Coutinho who get tossed around like flies.

If we had money to buy a ready-to-start striker with all those traits you listed we wouldn't be having this discussion of course, but the reality is we don't and we have to take our chances, but idk maybe you know a list of guys who can do all that shit and that we can afford for free or for a very low price, if that's the case i want to hear it.

Don't think we should go in to the season with a fixed front 3. Messi is there, but the other two spots should be earned.

Ansu might be the best fit for LW but if he isn't fit Depay and Dembele (if he's here) should be in contention. Same for RW/CF with Griezmann, Aguero and Dembele.

Could get rid of either Griezmann or Dembele and replace with Trincao, otherwise Trincao should go out on loan.

Playing a traditional front 3 with Messi is already difficult. Adding Griezmann to the mix makes it even more difficult. Depay at least can play a Henry/Villa-type a role as winger. Ansu is a big question mark and the club needs to be prepared for everything. In the best case Depay turns out to be great and Ansu gets tested as #9, which always could be an option as his finishing is very strong.
