Memphis is FREE. It?s not like we are spending 80 million on him. If he flops we will be able to sell him. He will not be on massive wages like Coutinho or Griezmann.

Barcelona have no money. This is a great market opportunity.

People here hate the signing but we legitimately cannot buy anyone.

There are so many people who just have to be negative about every single thing. Life must suck being so miserable all the time.

This. Very well said.

We need as many dutch players as we can get so they pressure him into joiining like the old days with that bum fabregas

Time to close this and announce it in the coming days and then move on to Gaya or Gosens and a CB.

Gaya feels too much like a small player that Barca already struggle with too many of.

Most teams have upped the power and size of their FBs and Barca still going for same type of players that get out worked/out muscled and bullied in big games.

I wouldn't mind Gosens, he seem like a different type of physical LB, but think they'll go for Gaya due to the Alemany connection to him and the fact that they might lowball Valencia into selling him very cheaply.

Emerson does bring some size and power in him at RB though. So there's at least that.

Probably will go for Gaya as Barca still seem to suffer from thinking having performed in La Liga is the top standard.

Gaya is decent just in team already lacking height and power is it opposite of what other top teams are going down road of for FBs.

Feels like team is never evolving and same weaknesses year after year.

Are they planning a back four of Dest, Garica, Gaya and one other in near future? Getting smaller and weaker at time other teams getting bigger and stronger.

I think there's a good chance Emerson becomes the starting RB if he isn't sold for profit. Just more ready to contribute consistently than Dest who still need a few things to learn.

Gaya - New CB - Araujo - Emerson

possibly

This. it's hard to be optimistic when we make the same mistakes over and over again, same goes for managerial hiring's (Yes I'm aware top managers being available is slim to none rn)

CL has exposed just how outdated our style and approach is and we still don't learn. a club the size of Barca, heads should of been rolling after the Roma game

A backline of Gaya - de Ligt - Araujo - Emerson would be sexy. A lot of physicality there.

Doubt it happens though.

I doubt Gaya is any stronger physically than Alba is. They are very similar. Jordi is still the better player, with a tendency to implode now and then though, of course. Still Gaya would be a great buy to finally move on from an aging amigo (who is still in best physical form among them).

Not imploding in every major game would be a good thing even if Alba is slightly better than him.

Gaya starts over Alba for Spain, but Lucho has never been a big fan of Alba.
