Memphis Depay

He dribbles, shoots and tries difficult or strange passes a lot, no one believes otherwise. These are his success rates. Of course he will also be high in absolute numbers in for example these stats lik SCA and GCA.
Braithwaite and Sergi Roberto have in this moment as many assists and non-penalty goals as Depay, despite playing less than half of his minutes, and without being even close to the low success rates of Depay.

Whenever Depay shoots, another player doesn't get the chance to shoot.

Basically he is one of the only ones in the squad with some initiative. Most of our players when they get the ball just pass it sideways or backwards and wait for someone to do something whilst they pad their pass completion rate with 5 yard backpasses.

You need players sometimes that aren't afraid to take their man on and perhaps fail sometimes, like Dest and Depay who showed their qualities against Levante.

Yeah I agree.
As I've said, we are lucky that it's not Messi missing out on the ball, but Long de Jong and maybe Demir, when Depay tries to force things...
Since Messi left, Depay is sort of a good player for the team, despite his terrible success percentages. All I'm saying is you can't really compare a player playing like him to a player who is well above 80% or maybe 90% EVERY SINGLE GAME, whereas he hasn't been for one game yet. You should also demand that he scores and creates much more than a player like Braithwaite for example.

I don?t think Depay is good enough to be our saviour.. and we do need a special player just to try and catch up with everyone else now .

I think we need either Cavani or Ibra just for this season ..and both would come I think

Laporta is a specialist in making the entire playing staff feel like shit and even new players are not safe from media harassment and being forced out apparently. Maybe Depay will be the next victim of Laportaitis after Emerson

De Ligt is very overrated and imo not even a top5 CB in Serie A even after Romero and Tomiyasu left.

Yes it is his fault that he plays like he does, and he is (as are we) very lucky that Messi isn't still there, so that the 30% of passes that he misses doesn't take away from Messis possession but de Jongs and Demirs. But I think both these players would be a lot better off if they got to play with for example Konrad instead of Depay.

...so this is the root of all these anti-Depay takes. You're one of those people who believe that la Masia is the solution to all problems. Did you also think Alena-Puig was the midfield of the future?

Konrad hasn't done anything of note to merit comparison to Memphis.

I've read the entire article of Marco Van Basten regarding Depay. You can read on www.newsnow.co.uk. Marco clasfies him as very individualist, try to dribble too much , "not a team player" like all Barcaplayers are passing a lot each other and I fully agree Marco. Honestly, we do not need a player like this guy to dribble a lot without success when he can pass at the right time to other to score. In last game against Levante he wasted many chances of goals doing so. Too individualist and for sure not what Barca use to have.
And yes, Laporta want to sell him and ter stegen to Juvenile for de Ligt. At least I have read too on the same already mentioned website.
We need a reL striker to score and not a wasteful player like this one. I would like to see him starting on the bench or hopefully Cowman will draw his attention about this aspect.

Nah. Our team lacks selfishness. Too many guys passing the ball around for fun. He has desire to score, that's positive in his position.
