Let us look it at another way.

Take either player out of the team and how would Barca cope on a long term basis?

IMO I think Barca would feel the loss more of Iniesta than Messi.

If Carlsberg did forum members
Del Horno and Robben were owned that night, Messi won the ball off Robben at the corner flag then avoided the slide tackle before being taken out by Del Horno later on.

This shows u dnt watch barca much...Iniesta was out for close to 2 mnths last season due to injury and we accumulated max pts during the period. We even won Copa final without him...We are yet to see how it affects us if Leo is out for long since hez become our main man.

I walk the line
But it would imply he is a difference-maker. Which is a very big factor when it comes to a player and cant just be used as an extra stat that you rate 1-10 because it holds much more weight than "stamina" or "passing".

Abaddon

Of course he is a difference maker. In the little stat thing, it would be that X-factor?

But I told you, I'm not a fan of rating skills on 10 then see who has most in total. You can easily be a better player with a few 10s and a lot of 0s than with all 5s.

Playmakers dnt necessarily start in central midfield..

In association football, a playmaker is an attacking player who controls the flow of the team's offensive play, and is often involved in passing moves which lead to goals. The term overlaps somewhat with attacking midfielder, but playmakers are not constrained to a single position - creativity is the only true requirement, and good passing ability and tactical awareness help. Because many midfielders have these attributes, they tend to be the playmakers of a team. They are sometimes called the "number 10" of the team.

A good playmaker will often hold possession, allowing other team members to make attacking runs. The ostensible role of the playmaker is to then provide or facilitate the final pass which leads to a goal. In football terminology this is often known as a killer ball or the final ball and is officially recorded as an assist. (source-wiki) [sorry i'd to quote wiki on this coz i dint know how else to explain...& not every1 here is meta u know :D]

There was a youtube video which has been removed, highlighting Leo'o playmaking skills- his short and long range passes, through balls, passes tht lead to goals all of which need good vision, awareness, positioning, good reading of the game...Eg - His pass to Di'maria in the olympics, his pass to Henry at SB last season etc. U dnt do it unless u r a good playmaker. Just becoz its not his noticeable attribute, doesnt make him any less of a playmaker. A good footballing brain is a requisite to be 1 and any1 who watches him can tell hez an intelligent footballer, and for tis reason I believe he ll move in to a deeper playmaking role towards the end of his career(wen hez lost the pace) like Ryan Giggs.
While sme1 like c.ronaldo ll eventually take up the striker’s role.

Ok, I found a video tht doesn’t really do enough justice to his playmaking skills. (The old 1was a compilation of all his previous seasons and showed his creative play and all range of passes.i wish sme1 can find it)…My fav @4:41 tht was so Xavi-like :D

true, but when Iniesta was out for six weeks(february, march) we started dropping points.. and when Iniesta returned we started winning again. Also our strongest performance was when Iniesta was playing(lyon, munich, madrid etc). With Iniesta everything goes much smoother and without him we tend to struggle.

I dnt think it was down to Iniesta's absence but more due to our overall team's dip in form during tht period. If u remember Leo, Eto'o, Xavi, & even our defenders(puyol, Marquez) were all struggling tht period noticeably coz of fatigue, fixture pile-up etc.
And when u have a player returning frm injury who injects more creativity and freshness to the side, the team's performance is bound to improve. But i do agree, with Iniesta we are a much much better side.
