Perhaps not, but that won't be because of Özil. They did win the U21 championship with him as the main man.
Why take one when you can have both? Götze - Özil in whatever formation should be class. Titles would depend on the manager though and perhaps on finding a good striker.
Anyway, my point was that Özil can take games by the scruff of the neck, as he does for his NT, but I don't think the current Arsenal set up suits him ideally (up front). Also his style of play is more elegant/less "visible" anyway, so you don't really notice his contribution until you look at the stats.

Well they don't actually have the best players in each position and haven't had for over a decade, the only best they have is CR.
They work out fine together, linked up well in the games they played. If there will be any rivalry, it will be between Gotze and Draxler - both star youngsters, both egos of some sort and both want to be #10.

Are the german newspapers as bad as the spanish ones? Because in the meantime that recording for Gulf News was made public and Ancelotti, when asked if he misses Ozil, actually said:
