Miralem Pjanic

Time will tell.

If Pjanic comes in and looks a step up from Arthur can sell him in couple of seasons.

Arthur on his own is not a loss and I dont think this moves weakens the squad but still need to make other moves that would have been needed with Arthur.

Doubt Pjanic will change much. We need players who can also make a difference in Champions League. Best times are past Pjanic by a couple of years at least.

Perfectly fine if the club think Arthur is not the answer, but the chances this version of Pjanic will play out of his mind and dominate in the CL are ultra-slim. So, what are we doing here? Are we improving the team and looking forward or not?

To me, this transfer just shows that club doesn't even understand our biggest weakness and why we were humiliated in CL in recent years. So we bought another player whose exact weakness is our weakness as well - lack of dynamic!

This was visible even in our last game against Bilbao where kids entered and added just that!

Pjanic is more mobile/fitter than Arthur and more positive on the ball.

That side of game improved massively because Arthur went off.

He won't set the world on fire or anything, but I'm sure he'll be a useful player for us. He also only just turned 30 and is not a very injury prone. Reading some of the comments here you'd think the lad is 35 with shot knees. Pjanic instantly become our best progressive passer and will also finally give us our first legitimate right-footed set-piece taker since Neymar left. Good enough stopgap player.

Messi isn’t giving up FK duties..... only to his buddy Suarez.

Many Juve fans openly say that Pjanic is a sideways pass metronome, fearful of pressure and especially this season has drastically plummeted in any playmaking abilities. Even in his prime his tendency to always spread the ball sideways was very clear but he could at least bring some good chance creation into the mix. Mobility was absolutely never his strong suit and its just becoming worse and worse as he ages.

And him being good/creative on the ball was mostly seen in Serie A while his assist production drastically drops in the CL, with some really shit performances.

Just fucking look at how abhorrent he is in this past season. More of the same of this Andre Gomes, old man Rakitic profile of footballer.

That is based purely on assists/chances.

There was similar graph for last season that showed him as one of most progressive passers in Europe.

This season he is playing deep in almost the Jorghino role and doesnt suit him.

He is more mobile and fitter than Arthur is.

You're welcome
Pjanic might actually work for coming 3 seasons. I am not totally against it.
Dont know what to expect anymore. Lot of hyped transfers seem to not work out as they should anyways.

Bring in slavic fighting spirit.
