 guys don't believe the trolls

i watched the game yesterday. this guy is rakitic regen or even worse. sideways passing maestro. he slowed down so many plays with his constant sideways passing and passes back to the CB.

he didn't run much either. rabiot got mad at him at one point because he was standing still and not making any runs. also when he was tracking back it reminded me of our dinosaur midfielders who can never catch the opponent

this 7 key passes is a bs metric and the only reason it's at 7 is because he kept making diagonal balls to fullbacks/wingers who would then do something with the ball.

in other words, he was trash

Stop contradicting yourself.

First you say he only does sideways and back passes but then try and brush off the 7 key passes with incisive diagonal passing to generate width.

At least try and be consistent. Fyi he's run the most out of any juventus mid but sure dude He's raki v2

retarded shit

He did 7 "key" passes out of like 100, and they weren't anything noteworthy as they were just diagnoal balls. He was largely anonymous up until the score was 3-0 against a 10-man relegation team.

He almost always made a sideways or back pass otherwise. This guy is literally nothing but rakitic regen. Go ask the Juventus fans who actually watch the games what they thought of his performance yesterday. They'll tell you the same.

Now off you go back to the Neymar thread where u can wank to more shitty transfer rumours.

Rakitic is a better player than Pjanic and half of this forum can't stand Raki. Can't wait to see the reactions after Pjanic plays couple of matches for us. People will be furious.

Apart from the fact that Pjanic obviously covers more distance than Rakitic and creates more chances, plays more key passes.

Strange deal, swapping a 30 years old with a 23 years old who don't have that much difference in quality. Don't know what the Barca's board is smoking, but it must be some terrible shit.

Arthur barely played a forward pass in his life.

Isn't it rude to compare any semidecent professional footballer with Arthur and say that they are of a similar quality?

Maybe I didn't choose my words very wisely. I actually wanted to say Pjanic is not that bright anymore, while Arthur is not some bang average midfielder who doesn't have a chance to get better. I think base on their ages and the room Arthur has to improve this is a very strange deal for Barca.

People are too obsessed with age on our forum.

Let's say it this way:
If you buy a player (Dembele, Arthur) and you need to wait for 4 year until they develop, that's not a good deal for Barca.
We are wasting time, money, trophies.

Ok, if a player is young, you surely have to give him some time and some credit.
But there needs to be a line.

For example, Arthur will be 24 in a Month.
If someone could travel through time and tell us: he will be meh until the age 27, then he will improve at the age of 27.
Would you keep him?
Look, he would improve in that case, but we would need to wait for 5 years.
That's just not a good scenario for Barca.

New signings need to perform from a season 1 or a season 2.
That's it.
We are not a smaller club who can buy a player and wait 3-4-5 years until he develops.

Arthur did though.

My problem with this whole Pjanic deal (who I hink will be excellent for a season or two) is not that Arthur is irreplacable sporting wise, but that its used to cover for the board first and foremost. I dont think it would happen otherwise.

That is subjective that he performed.

In his first season, he was the 5th choice for EV from March-June.

This season: he wasn't here in the first rounds.
Then he played 10 matches till a New year.
Then got injured, tired, scandals.

He had only a few more good matches than Dembele.
For majority of his 2 years here, he was injured, rusty after injuries or off form due to random reasons.

Every player plays a few good matches here and there.
Even mighty Malcom had a few good matches.
But that was not enough.
Denis had some good games.
Even Arda.

So, in total, what Arthur offered in 2 years was quite meh when you sum it all.
