Nelson Semedo

This was a very encouraging performance. Don't look too much into the missed crosses.

What was really exciting to see was how much he moved and attacked the flank, as well as combining with players to do it. He did that through all preseason and is still showing it. Way more often in danger zones than he tended to be last year.

Also when he gets to the 1v1 position he doesn't always just boot in a cross like Alba. 2 or 3 times today he cut back onto his left foot (eliminating the defender in front of him) for a much more clear pass opportunity. That kind of play with the right target in the right area can be extremely deadly, and I don't doubt we'll see him do it through the season.

Great things to see there. The end product will come with time.

He was one of the better players but doesn't look like he knows how to combine with players. Every good thing he does is from his pace.

Yea he doesn't kno how to combine, pass and move pass back aka tiki taka. But this was a good performance, he keeps improving. And he'll continue to do so.

Better, still needs to improve. Good thing Alba is on the other side, Alba has as much effect on the game as Alves ever did, one of the best fullbacks.

I found his performance underwhelming. I continue to see him as an accident waiting to happen defensively compared to Roberto and lacking in interchange. I see the latent, but for now Barca is a more coherent, stable and better overall team with Roberto at RB.

Semedo is a better defender tbh

Prefer the defensive shape and balance with Roberto, rather have that than better individual defensive skill of Semedo. But I see the talent and fine with rotation, see if Semedo becomes the more complete RB and where the team plays better with him at RB than Sergie--I don't think that day is here yet and maybe not this season.
