I would love to see Semedo evolve, but that is not happening any time soon. I would love to see us go all in on Kimmich next season, easily the best RB in the world at the moment.

Kimmich said recently he want to move back to the midfield again.

Getting Kimmich is more complicated than getting Varane. Semedo is an excellent player, but there is no point in keeping him when the manager does not play him. Playing him randomly without consistency would 100% hurt his development.

It is quite clear at this point really.

I actually think he’s really unlucky. He played really well in pre-season.

He needed to take a line from Dani Alves and just whip that ball in the box even if there isnt an option there. Atleast it will make players move there if there was a good service option being given.

Seriously, Alves would sometimes put 20 balls to no one into the box, but it was better than Semedo always cutting back and stalling.

If he doesnt snap out out of that, he will be on a one way ticket to the EPL.

I remember in the begining of the last year him having really really good performances , thinking we had foung an Alves successor only for him to be dropped for no reason. I remember him playing really good vs Juventus and Atletico ,and pretty much in every game in the begining of the season. I thought that he wasn't played that much because of that clause benfica had on him , and so we wouldn't pay them extra money but this one is on Valverde. I see Semedo having a really high ceeling but he won't reach it here cause we have Roberto in front of him ( who is a bad rb ) , and Valverde not having balls to bench a Masia boy.

I thought exactly the same. This was pretty weird at this point. I just thought how in the world can u bench a guy that made such good games in a row, is full of confidence and cost like 30 million.

+1 his defensive work was class in those games. His attacking and link up play hasn’t been too good but that’s something that can get better with time as you settle into a new team and system... he wasn’t given that chance to have a run of continuous games. Pretty certain there’s some sort of quota to fill with Roberto or there was at the time.

It's be a shame to lose such a talented player due to a clueless manager. Hope he rides it out till Valverde is sacked or comes to his senses.
