Santos was so lucky just because he didn't face a big team other than France, which was lacking winger's contribution. They defended well and scored a goal with chance that's all.

Regarding Semedo, All l know about him is that he is fast and he can dribble, yet his defending is really weak.

Honestly I'd rather have Bellerin (so much hate on here:p), but given Arsenal won't sell I'm excited by this alternative. Pretty much none of us have seen a good sample of his abilities so we just have hope this one works out:barcascarf:

Obviously highlights, but Semedo's dribbling/on the ball ability looks outrageous. Can't wait to see him in a Barca shirt wrecking havoc down that right flank.

Someone with that ability and creativity gives you so much more than your run-of-the-mill super fast FB who are easier to contain.

Hope he keep working hard and doesn't get ruffled by the pressure.

Raki would seriously rather use Vidal and Roberto

I am very cautious about this signing after Danilo but our RB situation is very dire and the market is very bad for RB's. He has the right skills to be a Barca RB hope he turns out to be a good signing.

Danilo was a strange one. He played quite well against tough opposition in the CL like Alex Sandro, yet he flopped while Alex Sandro is doing great now. Could be a psychological thing too, or perhaps he's just a very bad fit for Madrid.

Semedo is a lot more skillful though, and hopefully got the resilience to make it here.

Honestly with Danilo I think it's a mental thing and he probably wasn't as good as people hyped him up to be. a lot of people thought of him as the new Dani Alves but as you can see it's not the case. I think he's a good RB but not as good as people hyped him up to be.

for his own good he should leave Real as he has no chance of even benching Carvajal.

Don't think he will offer much more than Vidal, I don't see anything special in him, just a good to very good player, digne type player

He seems to have alot of potential and he was one of benfica's best starting players according to their fans on twitter. You can't compare him to digne whose a very low quality shit player.
Digne was benched by a 34 year old maxwell lol.

it's great news that we signed someone, just think we should lower our expectations. He's a 30M full-back coming from the portuguese league, so he's not better than Danilo and Coentrao, who pretty much did the same as Semedo (were very strong there), even though he can improve. Which is not a bad thing, both Danilo and Coentrao did what was expected of them, despite what the media says, they were reliable backups for starters that would cost 2 or 3x more if they were to be put on the market.
There's no better on the market and we wouldn't afford it anyways, we just need to make peace that trophies are not going to rain down on us like in the past decade for the next few seasons while we develop what we have. CL is going to be tougher and tougher, but we're still better than Madrid in Spain who pretty much struggle during all games and rely on their quality up front to save the matches in the last 10m while we dominate and win comfortably most of them
