Neymar Jr. - v5

No he didn't betray anyone, but you basically said he "honoured" the club. All he did was keeping Status Quo

I think the status quo here would have been taking up PSG's offer. Very few players and their dads would have passed up on that sweet deal.

Your wife doesn't pay you to be her husband. When that changes you can ask for pancakes. Don't confuse the professional relationship with emotional.

You misunderstand the analogy, this isn't about how clubs are wifes. This is about how there's nothing honourable about not breaching status quo.

Raktic was getting shipped out for Verratti. He himself said he would leave if Verratti signs.

What's the use? It's probably too complicated for you.

Neymar and Barca are in employee/employer relationship. When you see an offer like that from PSG it makes you think. Don't forget that Neymar is bringing lots of cash to the club. He is very marketable player, probably as big as Messi. He wants some share from that revenue. He is always going to be different from Messi and we need to understand that. Messi had long relationship with the club going back to his childhood. It's really difficult for him to switch the clubs. For Neymar is easier. I still hate his greedy bastard father, but Ney is important for our club and there some issues that we are going to deal with time and time again.

yeah.. ok nice, I understand that, but I wasn't talking about that. Neymar doesn't deserve recognition, let alone "honour" for not moving. What about players like Umtiti, Ter Stegen etc, who were not negotiating with anyone this summer? Shall we also take a round of applause to them, as they weren't even considering a move? Is everyone that is still in the squad on the 1st of September a hero now or do you have to flirt with other clubs first?

If throwing away millions of dollars for the sake of staying here is not honouring the badge of Barca i don't know what does. And that would be the case if anybody did it not specifically Neymar. As of his moments of doubt, shit is more than normal. Matter of fact, it's almost abnormal not to think about such an offer.

Edit : Figo didn't even blink before taking the decision. A barca captain

No, there's nothing honorable about that. You are correct about that. He's great player and we get the keep him for the benefit of our club. period. He gets a credit for understanding career is bigger than money and Barca is the best club for that.

No it isn't honouring the badge. It simply isn't dishonouring it. Hundreds of players are getting ridiculous offers from China every month, and not everyone is expecting a pat on the back for not accepting it either. It's not like it's a bloody upset that he isn't moving to a club that can't offer him a lot more than he already has in life. I'd basically expect any normal functioning professional to not leave a club like Barca for PSG.
