Not going to go down the route of saying he wasn't that good anyway just because he's left. I'm sad to see a fantastic talent go. Now that its done, lets just hope the money is invested wisely. We aren't going to be able to replace him with a better player, so it'll have to be an overall improvement in the squad.

Fuck Gaspart but the hell does he mean that it's not the board's fault? They have some responsibility for this mess. He enabled the Neymar's in the first place. We signed him in one of the shadiest deals in recent years. Isn't that the board's fault? How about letting him miss matches for 3 consecutive years just so he can get to his sister orgies? Not a peep of critique and no backbone whatsoever. He treated us like dirt while Barto and Neymar Sr. were planning on how to offer more and more bonuses. Fuck out of here Gaspart.

Guess they are from the same cloth. Crooks should stand by crooks.

What? Buyout or not, they felt he is worthy of 222m so they bid that on him. Simple as that. The buyout was negotiated with the club by neymars to put at 222mil because they knew someone would be willing to offer that.

With neymar they will definitely be way better. All the signings they have made in recent years, none was as huge as this. He wasn't enough to propel us into europe dominance? He scored in every knockout round when we won the treble and was the sole reason why we weren't anhilated by PSG. If not for him we would have been out in the r16. Whenever we were knocked out from CL, messi and suarez weren't that great either. Look how good he is in brazil when he is the main man. Even when his finishing was terrible with us last season he scored easily with brazil. When he will be the main man he will be better than here.

I've seen similar situations but Neymar is in the same boat as Figo, who was alone but now has Neymar for company.

I've seen great players like [Diego] Maradona and Ronaldo, who were better than Neymar, also leave Barca because other clubs paid their clauses.

But they went with dignity, without making so much fuss. I've not liked his [Neymar's] attitude with the club, with the supporters and with his teammates.

On Laporta's tweet to use Neymar's departure to criticise Barto and the current board.

It hurts me that people I respect are using this to blame the club. Neymar's the one to blame, full stop.

It's not Barca's fault. It's not the board's fault. It's not the players' fault... they did everything for him to stay. It's Neymar's fault.

It has to be said, Who ever decided the number 222m for the buyout-clause should receive a medal and a statue in barcelona, It's a stroke of genius, Albeit accidental.
It's not low by any means, Yet not high enough to be impossible to meet, It's just the right amount, And now we're in an amazing position.

Having a half a billion buyout clause for neymar wouldn't have kept neymar at barca, Because what did the last 3 weeks taught us about neymar?
He has no respect to the club, The fans or his team-mates, And has no problem playing dirty, He and his father, If PSG couldn't pay his clause, Then he would've forced his way out, No problem, And we would've sold him for 120m if we were lucky.

This 220m is one of the best things that could've happened to barca.
