Neymar Jr. - v5

So Messi is uninspired, but Neymar only has finishing problems. Please expand.

I'm never a XplayerSQUAD type of fan, i never have problems with people criticizing neymar. But people say he plays bad, how come a player that had the most successful dribbles, most km run, probably more interceptions than our own defenders be a bad player ? it's incomprehensible to me, probably here lays the notion of subjecticity because people see matters differently, i care an awful lot about effort, desire and passion , Neymar shows that in the pitch every game, perhaps that clouds my judgement ?! i don't know. It's true though that a lot is left to be desired when it comes to his finising and here my point of view cross roads with yours.

As of Messi, i can say nothing more, the guy had an awful game today. he had a run of amazing games lately, today he wasn't. Still he's messi, he can smoke a cigarette there and nothing would alter his legacy here.

I don't care if he defended well or our midfield was crap. He got a easy chance which he could not convert and he is basically a striker.

well he is much more than a striker but then again, finding the net is indeed part of the job description.

but blaming Neymar for that 1v1 is way unfair. He did everything right. Great speed to un-mark himself, great first touch and great angle (this time with a flick). Goalkeeper did a great arrest with fast hands and that's it.

He always gets rants over here but you're reaching if you're saying he should've been subbed due to his form. There were way more shitty players than him! He's actually one the few players who game max effort today. Made some great passes and initiated that equalizer with a smooth pass to Leo.

Also, refs just like in the Eibar game called another Bogus Offside on him when he made that pass to Suarez

people take those 1V1s for granted, if you think playing with messi suffice than ask yourself why paco looks clueless there.

they used to harass eto'o for wasting too many 1V1 versus keepers and i used to argue with a freind of mine saying that he - eto'o- has a lot to do with creating those opportunities by fast-intelligent mouvements.. until ibrahimovic came and proved that playing infront of Messi iniesta xavi is not enough.

It was Neymar's pressing that provided Messi with that ball to assist Suarez. He fights rying all game, no one can accuse him of being lazy or not caring. Still, Neymar's problems are not only his finishing. His link-up play is bad too. I'm just not sure how much of his ball hogging are only down to himself, or a problem that comes from the way the team is playing right now.

Way too many of Neymar's dribbles have zero effect on the game. I would say 90% of his actually efficient dribbles are beating his man on the wing before crossing / passing back to the edge of the box. But when Neymar gets the ball on the wing and starts a semi circle around the box that, typically, nothing comes out of, he usually avoids 1 or 2 players and these are often counted as successful dribbles.

I don't care much for kilometer count. I can thank Fabregas for enlighting me on that account. Neymar does contribute defensively, but he's a forward and will get very little credit for this when he's not performing in offense.

and dribbling and making constant runs for messi's passes .

... it's a psychological thing, the solution is to bang a few

err... still talking about football? lol

seriously though, in the Eibar game, he had to keeper beat on that offside call. I like the fact he's taking more shots at goal. Pretty sure he'll find the net soon :)

Don't worry, the blind people in this forum will not watch the video, all they care about is success and their mediocre favorites.
Neymar was actually far the best in the team today, but these good old visually impaired friends know as much about this game as a worm knows about flying...

I think we are hitting a bigger nail here, i believe that too .. because neymar is not denis or paco, he was a part of a trebe winning barca team. I firmy believe that he's 2 levels above the neymar of 2015 ( regardless of what has been written here ) .. So maybe there is a structural problem. maybe we lost the surprise factor due to attacking exclusively from his side ?!

Could be. Everyone and their mother knows we attack on Neymar's side since we're playing without a RW.

Neymar fans dishing insults after their hero falls spectacularly on his ass is an epidemic.

Take your trusted eyes to a small excursion please and WATCH the video either on Neymar or the entire game again!
He was the best in the team (still not successful enough).
The real 'epidemic' is when folks don't see what they watch... and I'm personally anything but a Neymar fan.

Messi played worse than Neymar, Suarez even worse, the midfield was a joke and the defense is bad altogether. It was only Neymar who kept on trying all the time and as a matter of fact with his two shots on goal he did the most today.

Lol Fla didn't say she believed that, and in any case, you just said only his finishing was off the mark. Would you be more willing to criticize the ball-hogging if it came from coaching instructions ? Probably would.

As for thinking this Neymar is two steps ahead of 2015 Neymar... That's a mind-boggling statement. I wouldn't mind hearing what the other Ney groupies think about this idea.
