Our relations with PSG are beyond bad, PSG only wants money via a permanent transfer if Neymar wants out, why would they accept a loan?

This is a bit different to the Verratti case, it's Neymar... and if the rumours are true Neymar wants out of PSG and that's his only option. Even with our bad relations with PSG and Nasser's stubbornness at some point they have to admit defeat in the whole Neymar saga and think it's better to loan with an obligation to buy next season to Barca (The only club Neymar wants to go to) than have a player who doesn't want to be there, would cause problems in the dressing room and the funds they make from him could be invested elsewhere. With the loan they still save a seasons salary and will probably get around 140m for him next season. It's PSG's only option really, if the rumours are true.

But why would PSG be in a hurry to get rid of him to the point of agreeing to loan him out to us? Worst case scenario they will keep an unhappy Neymar for at least one more season.

We would be the last one PSG wants to sell Neymar too and I just hope they keep their feet down and be firm. 300m or 180m or whatever or get out.

This transfer window can't end soon enough for me.

Maybe they don't want to keep a player they are paying 36m salary to that doesn't want to be there.

It's like if Messi said he doesn't want to play for us anymore, the club would try to move him out fast to prevent paying an astronomical salary.

True, perhaps it is indeed shrewd and smart for PSG to get rid of him. If we want to shell out 36m a year on Neymar then the joke is on us.

I mean by that logic why would they even sell him in the first place? And to Barcelona of all clubs?

If they would be open to selling to Barcelona, it's not that far to the loan+obligation deal. There are differences for the books and cash wise of course what might be problematic for PSG (i don't know anything about their finances and how they plan to replace Ney) but in general it would be more or less the same.

We can just speculate of course and the deal would be qorse for PSG than a normal deal but it would be up to them to decide if doing Barca that favor is still worth it to sell a player who wants to leave and might cause problems. If they would have 0 issues with the "worst case" Neymar staying and don't want to deal with Barca at all they could've ended the whole saga weeks ago, but they didn't.

I don't want him back, but that's probably the only way it could happen this summer and PSG might think it's better to get rid of him instead of this drama continuing throughout the next season because we all know it wouldn't stop just because the transfer window closes, it's Neymar after all

The fact that the barça board is even contemplating this is mindbogling, how pathetic can you be?

By my count recently Bartomeu and Cardoner have said 4 times between the two of them that there is no Neymar case, so far it is mostly Diario Sport and to a lesser degree MD propagating his return.

I hope the board is true to its words and don’t ruin the club.

The rumours in June were that Neymar was willing to take a big pay cut to come back.

It wouldn't be a significant pay cut, I'd imagine. Still in the 30m's or top 20m's, pushing our wage bill further toward implosion without selling any high wage players such as Coutinho.

Rumours were he would take a 12m paycut, just rumours though. Who knows.

If we are both getting rid of Malcom(Already have) and Coutinho which seems likely, then the club is pretty confident in trying to get Neymar back.

No way in hell we are going into the season with just Griezmann, Suarez, Messi and Dembele. I highly doubt we will get rid of both Malcom and Coutinho just so we can promote the likes of Perez who is not good enough for a team like ours.

It's risky. Maybe we will get Erikseen?

Of course they say that there is no Neymar case. That doesn't mean anything though. If they publicly stated they want and are going for Neymar then it would be seen as a double loss and extra humiliation to fans and the footballing world if they don't get him.
IF they are going for Neymar right now they are doing it in the shadows (of course there will always be rumours), which is the right way to do it.

Personally I hope Neymar isn't brought back to Barca.

Coutinho going to Spurs.

I'm speechless.

Neymar is actually going to arrive.
