Geez what a waste of time if true.. But atleast the board hasnt thrown away more money for a shiny (albeit often injured )new toy with extraordinary salary demands. Wonder what PSG`s end game was.. Thought they were holding off to extract more money from Barca..This is a disaster for them if they dont sell considering Neymar has burnt a lot of bridges there.

Neymar is much better than DEmbele. Now we are stuck with injured Dembele. Sucks.

Well wouldnt we be replacing an oft injured player with another oft injured player..whilst being poorer by around 200 million or so...The only positive of the entire trade would`ve been that Rakitic would be gone and Valverde cannot start him every game ad nauseam..But if Valverde continues to not play Rakitic and use him as a sub or so..so am good there.

P.S: we finally have Griezzman..a hardworking forward who can score whilst maintaining tactical defensive shape and discipline..Am more excited in seeing what he can bring to our team than Neymar tbh who hasnt done shit for Brazil or for PSG (other than getting himself on the news for the wrong reasons most of the time).

But then again we have wasted over one month with this guy, now we don't have enough time to offload the deadwood. Awesome squad planing by Barto and co. Truly groundbraking stuff by these imbeciles.

Wonder what PSG`s end game was..

There are a lot of possible conspiracy theories scenarios regarding both clubs:
1. Barca really wanted Neymar (Barto) to try to go all in for a CL in the next 2 years
2. or, Barca never really wanted Neymar, but we were doing this:
1) either to please Messi who was asking for Neymar
2) or to please the fans, to make Barto look like a good guy who wanted to buy Neymar, but bad guys from Psg didn't want to let him go

Regarding Psg, there are several options:
1. they never wanted to let go Neymar because he is a mascot of a World Cup in Quatar
2. they wanted to let go Neymar because he is injured and his career is over. And that is THE ONLY REASON why they wanted to sell
3. or, they never wanted to let go their FIFA WORLD CUP 2022 mascot, but since he was unhappy, they created this theatre with us, to make it look as if:
Dear Neymar, we are listening to your feelings and want you to be happy.
We were willing to let you go to Barcelona.
But they never really made a good offer, so we couldn't do anything.
We can't let you go for cheap...
So, you will "have" to stay and continue to be our mascot, since this is why we have bought you in the first place. NOBODY will ruin our Quatar 2022' project.
So, stay here and we hope that you will happy.
We will give you a new contract, if needed. Just stay.

Hard to tell which one is true, but every single scenario makes sense to a certain extent.

PSG valued him at €215m lol that's why it didn't happen.

This all was a lost battle from the beginning. Psg knew that and the only reason behind those meetings was to keep neymar happy.

They never wanted to sell him.

I doubt Bartro cared about pleasing the fans..I am guessing he wanted to try and please Messi whilst also hoping they win the Champions league somehow.. Would help in the elections..

PSG, like you say, maybe didnt want to let go of their mascot..Even thpugh he is injured, his marketing potential is still there assuming PSG gets a good share of the spoils...plus this entire saga makes PSG look so good at the end of it.. From a position of weakness, they held their ground and may have emerged looking great in the process (holding their own against the "mighty Barca" and not being a typical seller club)..whilst our incompetent board cannot get rid of anyone at the moment nor buy at a reasonable price.
