The fan in question is a bellend.

He was insulting every PSG player that was climbing up to the presidential stand to get their medals. Among some of his insults, he labelled Verratti as a racist (Verratti is with a black woman these days).

And he filmed himself laughing afterwards with Rennes players (he was invited there by a Rennes player) and posted in Instagram. But later on, he said that hit caused him headache, that he wouldn't be able to drive his car, that he should stay in an hotel.
He published a fake civil complaint when he got called out by some sport journalists (not even credible with the amount of grammatical errors in the text).I think the guy is trying to get some money out of this but it could backfire. From his instagram profile, it has been noticed he is a fake clothes merchant and in his own video can be heard his derogatory comments. Could get a stadium interdiction if some players want to press charges. On his video also could be heard someone with racist comment towards Kurzawa (something with black and african).

No doubt the fan was an a**hole, but Neymar should handle himself better IMO.

It never made sense in the first place to invest this big in a french club - even if it was psg = paris. The League is just too lacking. If he takes his funds to Roma = rome... It could revolutionize the leauge. The club is well-likedrespecyed and they could become a serious threat to barca. Shit

If its truee, neymar to Madrid could be possible. But rm would prioritize mbappe now and I dont think they Can afford both. If nasser goes, psg would fall apart. If Perez really would be stupud enough to buy neymar tho, it would open The door for mbappe coming here. The timing would also so sweet: suarez succecor.

Nasser is just a trusted friend of the Emir of Qatar. A pawn that represents them on various occasions (PSG, BeIn, QSI, etc.) but he doesn't have any power or "substantial" money.

I have seen that quote about the Emir and another one from the director of observatory of Qatar. And they were rather complaining about the fact that french people are ungrateful, not the fact PSG is not winning CL. They were saying that french people don't value or appreciate his efforts and investment in PSG and they are always critical of him and the club which harms his image and saps his will to keep investing.

As for Roma, it is a capital of an European country and they already have Qatar Airways as sponsor.
Still, i'm not too concerned about those quotes. They have started to build a 300 M training center for PSG, they have just signed sponsor contract with Accor, will soon renew with Nike for a decent amount, have a 2 year remaining contract with Jordan. They won't move before this critical investment are covered and they get their ROI.
Also, Sarkozy was very much involved with them and PSG, so the political roots are far dipper than meet the eyes. PSG is perfect for their soft power and they need France more than Italy for protection.

Btw, Roma doesn't get much money from TV right and their brand is inferior to PSG worldwide. They would have to start all over again to build it.
And palmares wise, i don't really see why PSG should be envious. They are way older and didn't win that much. Still, you find them more credible than PSG ?

Totally agree.

Neymar is at fault here and should and will get sanctionned.

It is just that pretty much everyone in France is like "he should have punched him more" when you see the nonsensical and never ending drama the fan is pulling.

Ah okay, thanks for the information.

Can you please explain this passage above? ^ What protection and soft power? And how is it political connection to a prior president of france relevant? How does it explain that psg was chosen in stead of for example an italian team?

Well, "sunk cost and escelating of commitment"-bias is relevant here. If the project isnt succesfull, it would make sense to look for another team / country. What france is lacking are at least 1 or 2 teams to compete against like la liga with barca, madrid and athletico. Emir / nasser would get that in italy, a leauge with huge potential, and juventus as a european powerhose.

It is Sarkozy that brought Qatar at PSG.
Sarkozy is a well known die hard fan of PSG. He can be seen at almost every game in Paris and he is seated next to Nasser or the Emir (when he rarely comes).
He extended favorable fiscal convention for Qatari investment in France. In exchange of buying PSG, he promised them he would use his influence to get them the 2022 World Cup. Platini even said that one day, he had a scheduled meeting with Sarkozy and when he arrived, he saw an high ranked qatari there waiting for him.
PSG is just the flagship of Qatar in France, but they have invested in numerous high end hotels, in a lot of CAC 40 firms.

All, a new fidelity program created by Accor is the new sponsor of PSG, replacing Emirates. Qatar has some 10 % stake in Accor and Sarkozy is in the board. PSG will net something between 60 and 75 M a year.

Also, France had some difficulty to sell their weaponry and Qatar thanks to those links has become a reliable consumer.
For World Cup, french firms are well placed to build some sensible infrastructures. The metro of Qatar, some stadium, parking etc.

And all those intertwinned relationships give Qatar the support of France to stop their gulf rivals from starting a takeover of Qatar.
Qatar knows too well you can't rely on only one "friend", so they cultivate good political and financial relationships with the major players of this world like USA, UK, France.

Italy is a great country but they are a minor nation in the worldwide politics : no permanent seat at UNO, no military might.

Also, when i see the racist climate around italian football and the repeated "weird comments" from italian people like de Laurentis about PSG owners, i'm really not sure they would be well accepted there. I can already see the shitshow from Lazio fans (and Atalanta and Inter since some are linked with Lazio ultras).

Also, sporting wise the project is not where they want it to be but it is hard. Even City with the big TV rights of Premier League are failing to win it. And they simply took Barca men to succeed, still no success in CL.
Brand wise and finance wise, PSG is a success. In a league with so few perspectives, they managed to develop the brand up to the size of top 10 clubs in the world.

Thanks a lot for the information. DIdnt know anything about that tbh. Always wondered why PSG was chosen, so it makes sense now

Bring him back. I don’t care what he did.

We need him!

People keep turning to this cunt and treat him like we sold him when he didn't want to be sold. But he CHOSE to leave us high and dry, and less than a month before the transfer window closed at that! Not to mention he's now on the wrong side of his 20s and is only getting worse by every game. His time as a TOP 5 player is FINISHED!
