Remember France have like 70% tax for rich people. So he's earning like uhm 75M a year.

Not true.

Also, there is the "impatriation rule" allowing to reduce tax on those foreigner players. Reason why we had to let Thiago Silva leave this year because he would be out of this special status and his gross wage would skyrocket to keep up with his net wage.

Nasser has a stack of 4 files on his desk. Neymar, Mbappe, Messi, Haaland. 1 down, 3 to go. :coffee:

Haaland will not go to France now that he played in Germany already.

Messi salary is too expensive.

PSG will not spend big this summer like all the summers after Neymar and Mbapp? transfers. Last year, it was mostly loans, cheap buys for example.

 Oil club showing off. 30m. after tax fixed + huge bonuses... the fuck?!

In before Messi signs with them too.

30 M seems insane and only possible for oil club wanting to showing off, right. It gives food for thought about the last deal Bar?a gave to Messi. Wasn't it over 100 M a year ?

Neymar is the Messi of PSG. He is the face of the team, him renewing has a big symbolic value about the future of the "project" (they can keep their stars). He is also their milk cow in commercial department. Next year first shirt will be Jordan brand, a brand that would have prolly not sign if Neymar wasn't there in the first place. Now, it will be interesting to see if this collaboration will go further now that he is a Puma asset. It would still not be a bad deal for Jordan because the collab sells well.

In the greater picture, it seems more sensible to have spent 222 M transfer fee for a guy who will play more of less 8 years for the club.

I said it earlier but i had no doubt about Neymar renewing. He has too many ties with Qatar. He got nice sweeteners with QNB and Qatar Airways.

I dunno if it will be regarded as the best move in his career but financially, he hit big by going to PSG. The family business is working steadily nice.

Imagine how bad would a 4-2-3-1 with Neymar - Messi - Mbappe + Haaland would be defensively. These guys would surely fuck it up if they would think about something like that. Only the Qataris would be crazy enough to try something like that.

Something like that then

Whilst Neymar was a better player for Barca than Griezmann and Dembele combined, Barca cannot afford to splash huge sums of money on soon to be 30 year old players whilst other areas of the team need upgrading too.

Actually quite surprised PSG are willing to Chuck that much money at him to be fair too at this point.

Renewing Neymar is actually reducing his yearly cost by a great bit. From 44 M a year for his transfer, it will go down to less than 9 M. His salary stays more of less the same. 35 M a year is 115 M transfer fee and 12 M salary over 5 year. It is huge.

Given PSG are making big losses with Covid, it will help keep the finance afloat. PSG won't spend big this summer bar Neymar renewal and Mbapp? case (renewal or replacement).
