People are missing the point. The only way this transfer happens is if Neymar comes for free and PSG pay a majority of his wages. Otherwise we won't even be able to register him.

Now, all the negatives mentioned here are good solid arguments for the prosecution. Nobody is disagreeing with them.

But you would be absolutely nuts to turn down a free Neymar you are only paying 25 percent of his wages to, while your other options are Abde, Fati, Raphinha and Ferran.

Under those terms Barca really has nothing to lose by bringing him back.

I think if the wages are favourable then it is a solid move. Neymar is still an excellent hardworking player when not injured.

And you would assume being back in Spain would help his injury issues.

The big issue this Barcelona team has is creativity. That's where Neymar comes in, and unlike Messi won't compromise the defensive system.

If we were Bayern then I would say absolutely go for it. James, Coutinho, Cancelo, they eat these deals for breakfast and spit them out by lunchtime.

As for us, you just know our board don't have the guile and will load us up with a obligatory buy option for 80m or so, or have the wages spiral up to something ridiculous like pay 100% next season plus the 80% we didn't pay this season.

And with that in mind Im out. Just get the finances in check and bring in Vitor fuckin Roque this winter.

Honestly a fit and motivated Neymar fits that left inside forward role with Balde occupying the width very well. Ney is many things but he is not a passenger on the pitch and always had high defensive workrate for a superstar of his status.
