That's impressive, even if it is in Brazil.

Not really. What people are ignoring (because they don't know the football system in Brazil) is that his goal ratio is heavily distorted because of the Paulista. The Paulista is a state championship where teams of Sao Paulo are competing against each other, including 3th and 4th division teams. Barcelona would win every game with double digits against those teams and Messi would score 5+ goals every game (it's also how Pelé basically reached his 1000+ goals, playing against utter crap in state championships). Neymar has a goal ratio of 0.7 per game in that competition. In the usual Brazilian league however it's 0.5. In the Copa Libertadores it's also 0.5. Which is good but not OMGWTFLULZ-impressive at all. A player like Reus would probably reach the same numbers with ease in Brazil and Reus cost € 17 million. Not € 60 million. In fact Neymar's numbers are only slightly above Robinho level. Robinho at age 20 had 46 goals in 111 league games = 0.41 goals per game. Let's not even start the comparisons with Messi. Messi was playing against Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and other La Liga teams which weren't as unbalanced as nowadays (Valencia finished 1 point below Real Madrid in 2006, Sevilla finished 5 points behind Barcelona in 2007, when Messi scored THAT goal against Getafe, Getafe conceded the least amount of goals in La Liga that season). Neymar is playing against Mogi Mirim.

Which of course doesn't mean that Neymar can't still become a world class forward. Not sure if Barcelona should pay € 92840285 million (or whatever he'll cost) to find out though.

a guy with Messi´s talent is born once in 20-30 years don´t fool yourselves

Yes almighty creator! :worthy:

BTW, whoever said he has Messi's talent? Neymar has abilities Messi doesn't posses, and Messi has talent Neymar doesn't posses. . . . I think they will only make themselves better. You have to look past his childish attitude. Anyone who puts on a Barcelona jersey would have an immediate change in personality. . . . . Dani Alves used to be really hot headed. . . . Ever wondered what changed him?

I wish we had this much people opposing the Alexis Sanchez deal, even when we all knew his play style didn't and wouldn't suit ours. . . . . Lets be honest, he hasn't done anything significant since arriving!

Will never be an Eto'o or Villa, sadly . . . . More of a Ronaldinho, hopefully.

-Sanchez had his price inflated, but he still was a fraction of the cost that Neymar is going to be.

-Every criticism of Sanchez not fitting in also applies to Neymar, except more so, and yet you and all the other Neymar fanboys are usually the same people that hate Sanchez.

-Once again, the reason Pep wanted Sanchez over other players is exactly because he was meant to be a complimentary piece. You can argue that he's redundant, okay, but the club rightfully expected Villa to be Messi's main goal support up front, and besides bringing in Sanchez, the club was also spending even more money (something you guys always ignore) on Cesc, a midfielder but another one who plays around the box and was known for his goals and direct assists.

I don't know why I'm responding to you though, your sig says it all. This forum is really becoming unbearable.

For someone who knows it all about football...... Would you say Sanchez was a better buy compared to Cesc? Fabregas has been our second most efficient player(based on assists and goals) for 2 consecutive seasons. . . . Whereas Alexis is still learning how to pass the ball properly.

are to explain how every criticism aimed at Sanchez applies to Neymar? That call is simply appalling and has to be one of the lamest comments I have read in a while. They are 2 very different players, with differing play styles. With that said, pardon me to say that I will pick a Neymar over a Sanchez any time any day.....Reason? Check the stats.

This forum is really becoming unbearable you say?. . . . . Isn't that a Fiorentina Jersey I see? Besides, my sig doest say ALEXIS SANCHEZ right?

Ooh boy.. we dont need him, do we? When Neymar will come, then Villa will probably leave.

Villa is still very relevant, I think Sanchez should be loaned to Arsenal for a short while, until Villa leaves.

Cesc has been better than Sanchez, but one of the constant cries is that Sanchez is the reason Barca didn't buy Aguero, or get Neymar ASAP. That ignores the point that the majority of the budget that year was used on Cesc, not Sanchez.

And because Sanchez hasn't actually been bad lately, the new call is that he's redundant because he is at his best in Messi's position. Well, how does that not apply to Neymar again? And if your only point is to looking at goal totals it makes even less sense - Who does Neymar have to share the ball with now again? Check the stats really, that's the best you can do?

He has the foundations of an excellent false 9 though. Great vision and passing ability, not to mention he draws the attention of the whole back line in that area. The games he's played centrally he did well.

On Sanchez, he's had a couple big games for us, but he was pretty expensive compared to his productivity and form. Neymar should definitely wait until we figure out which forwards are surplus and get some more cash first.
