Well, they are not playing the same position for one. Kante without another mid besides him is not the same player.

A Kante busquets partnership would be solid as fuck and great for cl away. Both cover the others weaknesses. You could also give busquets a rest in some games, Barca midfield will have depth and variety.

Barca can either go full tiki taka (mid 3 with busquets, arthur, coutinho) or full bus park (rakitic/Kante) and anything in between.

This is the depth and variety for different situations that is needed to win cl

What’s crazy is.... we were fully prepared to pay 100m for Griezmann.. but Kante would have a bigger effect on the team than Griezmann.. I’d pay 100m in a heartbeat, he’s probably worth more if you think what he brings to the team and compared to other market prices.

Kante is the best classical DM in the world. Even 100m + another player wouldn't be too low.

I wonder why the hell didn't we get him from Leicester.

IF Chelsea is open to selling him, PSG will be driving up the price so we might need to pay more than 100m to get him. Not to mention PSG likely will offer him a higher salary than we would. We need Abi, Umtiti, Dembele, Lenglet, Digne (before he goes) to go all out to lure him.

Kante doesn't strike me as a money first guy, going from the PL to Ligue 1 is a huge step down. players who actually strive to be the best will want to be playing vs the worlds best, not farmers

I love Pep and his football and am generally not a fan of mainly/only defensiv midfielders but Kante is really outstanding. People talk about Casemiro all the time and how important he is for Real etc but Kante is the best by far. His workrate is just crazy and i don't think i've ever seen an defensive midfielder cover that much space on its own.

Having a player like him as an option would be fantastic for every team in the world, no matter what kind of football is played.

The problem i see here is the price tho, i mean would he even be a safe starter? Probably not. Kante-Rakitic-Busquets would be super defensiv, too defensiv for la liga and far away from "barca style" so that would be more something for a CL away game we have to defend once in a while, would we really splash 100+ mil on a player like that? Wouldn't be a star signing like Griezmann after all. Only if we really focus on the CL now.
