Laporta was always ready with his pals to give a bank guarantee in the last day like he did last summer for Kounde. The registration was never in danger. We would have struggled to register both him and olmo this summer.
Yea it would have gotten done in the end, like every transfer we've made.Laporta was always ready with his pals to give a bank guarantee in the last day like he did last summer for Kounde. The registration was never in danger.
Inability to register player is only reason why he is not already blaugranaDuring a 4-way video call in early August between Laporta in Baltimore, Deco in Porto, Nico's agent in Pamplona, and Nico Williams in Marbella, Nico Williams gave Laporta the 'yes'. Before that, in a long meeting at a hotel in Zaragoza, the player's agent and Deco met face-to-face. During that meeting, the contract terms were agreed upon, and several important points were discussed. At Barça, the mood was very optimistic. In fact, several directors believed the signing practically guaranteed. Nico then reported to training at Lezama, one week earlier than expected. Barça’s directors still trusted Williams’ word, even though the sight of him with the number 10 jersey dashed Laporta’s dreams of seeing Nico Williams in a Barça shirt. In the end the player chose to stay. Via:

Barca shouldn't embarrass themselves and run after a player for several seasons like Madrid did with Mbappe. He didn't want to come, it's fine. If Rapha continues to play like this, we don't need Nico.
The answer to this is literally 2 posts above.Inability to register player is only reason why he is not already blaugrana
The response to that is that Olmo wasn’t registered until the 3rd match of this temporada, and only after Ilkay & Lenglet’s contracts were addressed and quite critically Andreas’ cap relief through injuryThe answer to this is literally 2 posts above.
Laporta waited for the end of the window for this option obviously. Of course he doesn't throw around huge bank guarantees if he finds another way. But he confirmed it himself that he was ready for it if absolutely necessary and we saw this already happening with Kounde. The response to that is that Olmo wasn’t registered until the 3rd match of this temporada, and only after Ilkay & Lenglet’s contracts were addressed and quite critically Andreas’ cap relief through injury
So no, nothing was guaranteed for Nico
Can you read the full posts please? I wrote we already saw this with Kounde happening, who was registered with Laporta's guarantee on 28th of August, in your words "into the season" after 2 games played right at the end of the window. It's not too difficult to understand the fact, that Laporta is always ready to guarantee a registration with his and his friends money, but only on the last day if everything else fails.Come on, this is a futile argument. Olmo wasn’t registered until into the season, how on earth could Nico be assured of registration when guarantees were not made
It’s a nonsensical claim
