What was his buyout clause again? 40m?

Incase he has a great season and it doesn't get bumped up... Perhaps worth considering.

Was nothing special in his first game against Las Palmas. The worst Atletico player on the field IMO.

lol

He was one of the best players on the pitch in that match, creating several good moves for Atleti. Even moreso today, he was surprisingly great on the defensive end of things (which is the only dissatisfaction Simeone had with him in previous years).

Simeone seem to have put a lot of trust in him. Won't be surprised if he establish himself as a starter and has a fantastic season. He got everything, but need to keep his feet planted and just keep working hard.

I'm not surprised he is playing so well in Atletico, he is fantastic and will surely be one of the best midfielders in the world. Miss him so much at Porto. I miss him and Jackson :(

Hope AS is wrong. Would be a shame if Atlético lost him.

Edit: He played in 22 matches already. AS is spouting trash probably.

Looks like he'll be available for a low fee. Should we consider signing him if it's for 10-20m?

He isn't the type of midfielder Lucho likes.

Good on the ball but not great defensively and a bit too individual.

There is barely room in Luchos team for developing one young mifielder like Samper let alone two and paying 15/20m to do it.

Can't see any reason Lucho would bring him.

No ,I really don't rate him that much and think while he has potential he is overrated right now .
We have enough young AM in Halilovic (yes ,I see him as Barca AM not RW) and D.Suarez and may be Alena soon .we don't need another prospect for now
Also ,I can't see Atlético selling him .may be get him another loan or even sale + buyback but that's it

Óliver is obviously good enough if used correctly by Cholo...

I mean, even Xavi would struggle significally if he was pushed on wings and with the tactics Atleti use.

I think he could've been ideal CM for us, BUT, we have so many potential world class mids that just hording another one would be mean to Oliver. Roberto, Suarez, Rafinha, Halilovic,Samper. Not to mention our marquee signing Arda. It would be overload. And i don't think Oli is Lucho's type of mid. He wants aggressive mids like Rakitic and Arda. He would obviously take someone like Xavi, but that only because of his excellence. Oli is Xavi-liek, but not nearly his quality.
