Can't really know what is going on behind the scenes. Him not getting sold through buyout today can have different reasons.
To put it crudly, it is better for Barca and PSG if they agree on a deal for 50M tomorrow than today. PSG can pay in installments, Barca receive much more money. Hell, it even would be better to sell him tomorrow for 40M. Not that I would negotiate with those sheikhs, but if the only options are losing Dembele for 50M and camp Dembele receiving half of that or selling him for 50M tomorrow I'll take the second option any day.

Our board may see this as a chance to mend bridges with PSG, which ruptured under the old board.
Negotiate a transfer and go there. Laporta has already been in Qatar over talks about our future so it may be in our interests too.

I do not understand why our leadership, knowing the situation with Dembele and his agent, so easily missed Diaby. The best option available for the position of the right winger.
He reminds me damn much of Douglas Costa, whose game I really liked. In general, I think Costa is very underestimated. When the ball was at his feet, he was a constant threat.

We already have Abde if a dribbler is what you are looking for.
You know, no one is stupid enough to pay that much for fecking Dembele (not even PSG). And there’s no reconciliation anymore. We need to get rid.

I fear it doesn't work like that in club's current financial situation. Looks like Dembele wants the move and there is nothing really you can do against it. If you don't give him his move now, he'll leave for free next summer. Won't extend his contract again for what Barca can offer him.
If PSG is wise, they offer 50M in a gentlemen's agreement and say: if we make that deal today or tomorrow is your choice. Laporta has to do what's best for the club and selling him for 50M is better than receiving 25M now or nothing next summer.
Abde plays with his head down. If he doesn't learn to dribble with his head up, he will never become an elite player. Mitoma is several levels higher.

Abdes head down dribbling that team mates dont know what will happen next is not what team needs.
At Osasuna he gave away ball time and again and barely created chances.
Unless he matures massively he would be another Duelofeu type that cant play as part of a the system at bigger club and plays on other side anyway where Balde is taking more of width.
