He has a bit of a point.

The whole season was going to be him on a lower wage and going back and forth with board about new deal and probably club going after him through media.

Correct call for him to go into steadier surroundings and get better money really.

But he has to realise both his agent and club created the situation.

Dont blame him really for going when weigh up what current season was going to be like.

Probably best for him and club to move on from another year of that really even if Xavi wanted him in team.

What's his Legacy at Barca? Not a legend obviously but a cult hero/icon?
One of the biggest flops in football history, thats his legacy here.

It just didn't really stand out that much because we have two more of those (Griezmann, Coutinho)...at the same time even

Lets not forget Dembele and Coutinho are the 3rd-4th most expensive transfers of all time..."good patches" isn't cutting it.

When he was healthy and in good shape (what already means around half his time here) he was alright, even our best attacker at times but considering the ridiculous fee he was a huge disappointment. And that doesn't even include all the media drama we had to deal with.

French media and journalism hate him. He'll be destroy daily in media output. Except for his last trainer and player, everyone think he's pretty dumb, low IQ, never take good decision, doesn't take care of his health.

Everyone thinks that because he is that. Low IQ, dumb etc.

And he has managed to betray the only manager who ever rated him like a dumbass

Maybe but he will get paid and not be in conflict with club in same way would be at Barca.

If plays well at PSG media will be fine.

If he played well at Barca the talk would still be all season about the contract. If anything it may amplify it.

At this point the only way i could see him being high IQ is.... :

He used this pre season to estimate his current level and was looking for the best chance for barca to get up to the quarter In CL... He remind himself of all his most important/iconic contribution that stay in everyone head (Liverpool, World cup Final) and decide after a long process and through deep analysis that the best way to help us (barca) would be to play against us. He thought that with him as a starter (if he's not injured by this time), if we play against psg, our chance to win are 100% What they say? Stay close to your friend and keep your enemies closer?

Mode illuminate off... Welp f*ck off you snake

Dembélé's last words to Xavi: "Boss, if it was for you or the fans, I would have stayed, but this is not the problem..."
Now we'll never know which news is true, but the reality of the situation is that Dembele would always have people that hate him here for missing that Liverpool chance, getting injured at critical parts of the season, and costing us much in transfer fees without producing results and no one can blame them for that, and Dembele tends to make funny decisions sometimes which gets the fans angry again. This is why they always come from him whenever he makes any mistake so it is just a matter of time for both parties to part ways and for him to seek a new start.

That's why his decision wasn't shocking to me (many people would've made the same decision under the circumstances), cause it gives him a new start with a new environment, higher wages, and less pressure. You'll even see fans saying that Kessie's goal against Madrid is a better legacy than whatever contribution has come from Dembele so the transfer was only a matter of time, his choice of Club is questionable though but his leaving was inevitable.

Dont make excuses for dumbele. Kessies goal was obviously better than anything dumbele ever did. That was an epic moment in El clasico history.

Dumbele has been here long enough after the Liverpool miss for redemption arc.

All would have been forgiven.

But he failed again and again and then again.
