what people tend to forget is that he wasn't even particularly good WHEN he was fit enough to play. I only blame the scouting department and the man who made the decision to spend 100+ mil on a young player after one good season in Germany. dembele might as well be filed a victim of mr physical preparation valverde, but that really doesn't matter for shit now. like so many jokers in this squad he has to leave.

PS: even as an invalid, he is still pretty well off with his earned riches. I'd trade my life for his in a heartbeat (keeping my own brain though obviously), so no, obviously I have no sympathy for him as that would make zero sense.

Ousmane Dembélé did not follow the Barça doctors' instructions when he was recovering during his previous injury. [esport3]

It is obvious that Ousmane has chronic problems. He was often injured even when he played for Borusia Dortmund. We can not afford to keep player like him and pay that much money. He will leave Barcelona after the season, but many of the top teams in Europe already know his physical condition and won't take the risk to sign him.

L.A.Lakers have exactly the same problem with their All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. He has not played a single game for them this season and is still on the inactive list. Now the management is working on a move to terminate his contract so they can open a roster spot for free agent. Maybe Bartomeu and Abidal can try something similar with Dembele, as he has missed too many games this season. I am not aware of La Liga rules in this kind of cases, but there should be a way to unload his huge salary from our books.

He was training so hard that made QS cry, maybe it was so hard that he injured himself?!

Quique Setién: “It brings me to tears to see the intensity Démbélé trains with. He's an extraordinary player.” [sport]
Well we have the answer on how Setien can improve Dembele unlike Valverde

Another talent ruined by EV...

He would explode under Pep...

Valverde wasn't personally responsible for his injuries. We don't know the exact reasons, maybe it's Dembele, maybe it's the medical stuff, maybe it's the training, maybe it's just genetics...most likely a combination of different things, as usual.

But aside form injuries Valverde just wasn't a good coach for developing players, i don't even know how someone could deny that. So thinking that a better coach could get more out of an undeniably talented young player isn't exactly a far fetched statement...in a world where he isn't permanently injured of course.
