Good, not great but very decent game. De Jong playing next to him is benefiting him greatly. Finally someone plays fast passes with him.

Yeah he started out pretty good but fizzled out as the half went on, started showing many of the problems I associate him with. However despite that he showed something that I've only seen him do twice in Barcelona shirt so far, and that's quick short passing link up play; he did it twice within 10 mins. There was a good solo run during the last 20mins too. But yeah as mentioned in other posts, too many "easy" mistakes a football player of his level shouldn't be making from poor control, passing and slow decision making.

It was a good performance, first time I've been pleased with him since his good run of form from December-February.

Loved that run from midfield where he started by putting the other player on the ground with no big effort. Lol. If he had a decent finish it would have been a messiesque goal.

I feel that his sloppiness is directly caused by our excruciatingly slow pace of play. When other players are not in full stride, running and moving into space, he is not in his element. He needs "chaos" to play well. This will never happen under EV and his boring, rigid structure.

I watched his games at Borussia. He was always sloppy, at Rennes as well. But Borussia played an exciting direct brand of football under Tuchel, and he was in his element there.

I definitely agree, he was much more effective with Tuchel. I am just saying his "sloppiness" is unfortunately something his youth coaches were unable to iron out of his game, not a consequence of our team play.

To be a front 3 for Barca you have to be top top notch, not just the odd great dribble or golazo. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how he is going to make up for the massive technique deficiency that he has, at a club that requires the highest technique level.
