idk but yesterday when he was facing the fullback he'd always try to outsprint him and it would go out for a corner. i wish he could take them on to at least get a penalty or something

You're not wrong, and he's been doing that all season. It's either a fake shot that's a sideways dribble, or he's kicking and running to outsprint his opponent. Definitely not the best 1 vs 1 dribbler in the league, far from it.

Which is weird because he has the ability to be great (has shown it multiple times too). Either his technique and agility has deteriorated due to injuries, or he's lost tons of confidence in his ability to dribble. Regardless, he's way too error prone and makes far more mistakes than successes when he attempts to directly take on his player. He's lucky that he's the only speedy winger in the club, any other good winger would've displaced him by now.

He is so ridiculously fast that it should be easy for him, but no.
He is also very good at these feints, mostly a fake shot/cross. He has the calmness to wait for the defenders reaction and then take the space - not many players do that. Being extremely fast or a great finisher is of course helping getting the reaction from the defender...
I'd say the problem with Dembele is he lacks awareness and ability to combine with other players + he is very sloppy and sometimes just hits the ball too hard etc. In a clean 1v1 with lots of space, or a 'lost' situation where it's just him and the ball vs some defenders I think he's great.

He was never worth the money, and was never the right player for Barcelona, but he is someone who can always create out of nothing, so he is useful as a substitute when there is no hope...

That nasty fall, when he landed on his back, set up by Fekir really got me worried for a moment. He was the single consistent player on the pitch throughout the game. Didn't even show for a moment any tiredness after all the dozens of runs. Boy, he has the lungs!

They need to change the rule book on those. You can't turn your back and let the other guy go down like that. Fecking dangerous.

Did anyone notice scars on his hamstring?

Anyway, good game made assists. Still healthy. PSG is in danger.

Yeah, another feature is his athleticism that has really come through once he managed to string 10+ games in a row. He just keeps running these days.

He has matured so much. Without having an outstanding game, he is so much more reliable now, and the percentage of correct decisions has grown dramatically. I was thinking what a difference this version of Dembele would have made in the last two seasons.

Or maybe there is just something going on with his skin.

Mosquito bites dawg.

Overall good performance but got sloppy final 20 with the passing.
Great ball control when ball at feet though. Night and day with what we have seen before.
